Andres de Fonollosa, better known by his codename Berlin, is the main antagonist of the Netflix series Money Heist's first two parts and the titular main protagonist of its prequel spin-off series Berlin.
He is portrayed by Spanish actor Pedro Alonso.
Biography[]
Andres de Fonollosa is a very successful criminal wanted for several jewelry thefts. He has had 27 robberies: jewelry stores, 'auction houses and vans. His biggest blow was in the Champs-Elysees, where he stole 434 diamonds.
He entered the world of crime to maintain the high standard of living to which he was accustomed from the cradle.
During the events of the series, he joins a gang of criminals, led by the mysterious Sergio Marquina aka "The Professor", and orchestrate a huge scale heist on the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbrell (the Royal Mint of Spain).
It is later revealed that Berlin is the older brother of the Professor, and is just as much of a mastermind as him. It is also revealed that Berlin is suffering from Helmer's myopathy, an incurable degenerative muscle disease, and is in fact living on borrowed time.
Berlin was involved with Martin, one of his associates and the Professor in planning the probable heist at the Bank of Spain. He personally tagged Cesar Gandia and told the Professor they have to kill him at the earliest to prevent any trouble, which the Professor refused to his no-kill policy.
Berlin then abandons the Bank of Spain after being convinced by the Professor that it's a dangerous venture, and takes the reins of the heist at the Royal Mint as the second-in-command to his brother inside the Mint.
He is killed at the end of Season Two in a shootout with police while allowing the other gang members to flee.
A vengeful Professor then dedicates the Bank of Spain heist in Berlin's memory.
