Det. Berman (full name unknown) is minor antagonist in The Rookie. He is a dirty cop who abused his power to frame an innocent in the murder of the husband of his mistress
He is portrayed by Eddie Martinez.
Biography[]
As mentioned by Det. Lopez, he works in a division in West Hollywood and was apparently good at his job to obtain the rank of Detective. He had an affair with a married woman but soon got fed up with sneaking around and sought to have her all to his self. He murdered the husband and framed an innocent named Ben Dover for his own crimes. He then bullied a woman into implicating Dover to cover his tracks.

He was called in to assist in the aftermath of the riots caused by a fake social media post. As he was preparing to exit, he got a call from an associate who reveals that this was a ruse because an arrest warrant for him just landed on his desk. His associate reveals that the other cops are onto him, while he never called him. Once the Mid-Wilshire Division realized Berman knows their intent, they move in to arrest but he tries to escape and ends up crashing his car. Lopez demanded he surrender and the dazed man complies and is arrested while Dover was presumably exonerated.
