Banzai!
~ Bert's catchphrase.

Bert is a supporting antagonist in the Raving Rabbids trilogy, serving as a minor antagonist in Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, a major antagonist in Rabbids Hollywood, as well as a guest character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash-Up.

He is one of the Rabbids who joined his brethren in participating in the mini-games that Rayman is forced to participate as their gladiator to win enough plungers to escape. He later participated in the Rabbid Leader's campaign to invade Earth to be put under Rabbid rule.

He is voiced by Yoan Perrier who voiced the other Rabbids in the video games and voiced by Damien Laquet in the cartoon.

Appearance[]

In Rayman Raving Rabbids, Bert shares the basic appearance of a Rabbid with white fur and pink bare sides of his body. In comparison, Bert wears a black ninja suit along with a black bandana on his face though he wears only the black bandana in the Xbox 360 version. In the mini-games, he is occasionally seen with a bouncing stick. In Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, his appearance in the sequel makes changes with him now wearing a militaristic outfit and a red hoodie that covers his face. In Rabbids Hollywood, Bert regains his black bandana and wearing two bullet belts on his torso. In Rabbids Invasion, he now wears a black ninja suit with red accents on it.

In his guest appearance in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up, his appearance is similar to that of the titular main characters. He regains his bandana except it is now purple, wearing dirty dishes as part of his body and wielding a toilet carapace on his back.

Biography[]

Rayman Raving Rabbids[]

Bert was one of the Rabbids who participated in the mini-games where Rayman is forced to accomplish when he became the Rabbids' gladiator following his capture by Sergueï. He only makes his appearance in the shooting mini-games where he is with a squad of other Ninja Rabbids to volunteer in their efforts to defeat the gladiator from saving a Baby Globox and obtaining a plunger from each trial the hero passes and earning each one. This eventually failed however as he gets shot repeatedly by the hero along with the other Rabbids, resulting in earning the plungers from each shooting game including the Warthog racing mini-games and the sky diving mini-game, earning all fifteen plungers to escape his cell in the process.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2[]

In the sequel, Bert joins the Rabbid Leader's campaign in conquering as he is one of the many originally hiding in studying Earth until they emerged attacking humanity. During the invasion of Earth, Bert supported the commanding members of the invasion, the Rabbinator and Rabbid 2.0, in the mission in conquering the United States to put it under the Rabbid Leader's control. When Rayman had temporarily revealed himself, Bert joined the hordes of Rabbid forces across America to protect the Rabbinator and Rabbid 2.0 to stop Rayman from liberating the country. This failed however as both the Rabbinator and Rabbid 2.0 have been terminated, liberating the country for good.

He is unlockable as a playable skin for a Rabbid to play as during the multiplayer section of the game.

Rabbids Hollywood[]

Bert appears as the main antagonist of the Bwild West campaign in the lightgun arcade game, Rabbids Hollywood, wherein he appears as a dangerous outlaw within an in-universe western movie who attempts to steal from the bank and kidnap the town's princess, only to be repeatedly thwarted.

In the first level, Bert is seen running out of a building with a stolen sack of money along with his many cohorts, before snatching the town princess and running away towards the town jail. When he reaches the jail, Bert prepares to set up some dynamite to set the other jailed Rabbid outlaws free, only for the Rabbid princess to set off the explosives early, causing the front of the jail to fall on top of Bert, crushing him while the other outlaws escape, after which he's then shown crossing his arms while shaking his head in disappointment. Bert is then seen running away with the princess and the cash as the other outlaw Rabbids show up to confront the player while riding on turkeys. After the player has dealt with the ambush, Bert attempts to ride away into a carriage, only to slam into a cardboard cutout placed in front of a mine cart, which the princess Rabbid uses to escape with Bert's stolen cash.

In the second level, Bert is seen running away with the princess and the money past a rafter of turkeys escaping their fence, and then past the town's graveyard while leaving his fellow outlaws to deal with the player. After a rocket Rabbid Flies into and destroys the Bwaaahm Co. Fireworks Factory, Bert is seen riding in a mine cart with the money and the princess before exiting it to enter a saloon, before being followed by the princess, who proceeds to attack Bert's lackeys for throwing a beer bottle at her. After the player deals with Bert's goons invading the outhouses, Bert is seen running towards a carriage. As he's about to enter, a rocket Rabbid flies into the carriage, causing it to explode. Bert is then seen waiting with the princess for another carriage. The princess tries to get Bert to notice a carriage coming from behind, but he ignores her, resulting in the carriage hitting him while the princess enters the carriage to escape with the money.

In the third and final level of the campaign, Bert, acting as the final boss of the world, lands on top of the carriage the princess escaped on, as she welcomes him with a high-five, after which Bart summons a bunch of rocket Rabbids to start attacking the player. After the player deals with the first barrage of rocket Rabbids, they proceed to climb on top of a railroad car to deal with more of Bert's fellow outlaws, before shooting at the outlaws defending Bert's carriage. After dealing with all of Bert's goons, the player is able to shoot at the weak spots of the carriage, causing one of the wheels to break off, which Bert responds to by pushing and throwing the other outlaws with him down to replace the missing wheel. The player then shoots at the carriage's weak points a second time, causing the whole carriage to explode, with the top part now being carried by a bunch of Bert's minions as he along with the other outlaws and the princess land on top. The player is then able to shoot at the carriage's weak points one final time, prompting Bert to try attacking the player with a stick of dynamite, only for the princess to take it from his hands and use it to light a set of fireworks she wrapped around herself, before handing it back to Bert. As the princess proceeds to fly away with the money he stole, Bert waves goodbye to her before realizing the dynamite is about to explode, causing what little remained of the carriage to topple over.

Rabbids Invasion[]

Bert is one of the standard Rabbids who remain on Earth who originally lived at the junkyard and later living at the Flying Submarine. When the Dark Rabbid arrived to the ship, he had turned Bert and another Rabbid into his personal ninja henchmen with a plan to infiltrate and capture his nemesis, Rabbid 000. They spies on him and the Female Rabbid at the island to make their move to capture their target. Despite their incompetence, they had succeeded in the capture. When and his partner high-fived, they accidentally dropped Rabbid 000 into the ocean with a failed attempt to reach him is only with his black bowtie.

Witnessing Dark Rabbid's fury with Rabbid 000 and fearing the consequences, Bert covers up the mistake by disguising his partner as his nemesis, tricking him to believe that the mission was a success. His partner was placed in a giant hamster wheel. This remains until the Female Rabbid, believing his partner to be 000, comes to the rescue with Bert coming to fight against her. This did not turn out well as the wheel breaks loose, getting the partner to land on the chair before being thrown into the ocean by a rock. With the Female Rabbid believing 000 to have been killed and in fury, Dark Rabbid disguises Bert as his nemesis to take advantage to make him and Bert is prisoners and set up a death trap to kill her and Bert by sending them both to their deaths with Bert attached to a string with the Female Rabbid to be crushed by a washing machine.

While Bert was taken away to the ocean by the engine, the washing machine trap did not work as Dark Rabbid was crushed but survived exiting the machine. In a final turn, he tricks the Female Rabbid to believing he's 000 as they say on his chair together though 000, Bert and his partner returned arguing of the outcome they had went through and eventually fight each other. Given that this is the only episode that he has a role in, he most likely have been one of the Rabbids that got to pretzel island and later kidnapped to become a smart Rabbid by Lapinibernitus only for his plan to go foiled and eventually lived happily at Pretzel Island.

Trivia[]

  • In his wanted poster, Bert's age is revealed to be at least six years old yet it's odd for a Rabbid with such a young age has the same appearance to that for an adult Rabbid considering that the other Rabbid, Pink looks younger than Bert.
  • While refered as the Ninja Rabbid in both the Rabbids Wiki and the Turtlepedia, his name is revealed to be Bert in the wanted poster.
  • He, alongside both Raving Rabbid and the Splinter Cell Rabbid, are the only guest Rayman characters to be playable in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up.
