Albert R. "Bert" Saxby is a major antagonist in the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.
He was played by the late Bruce Cabot who also played Frank Pierce in The War Wagon.
History[]
Saxby worked for Willard Whyte as his assistant. When Ernst Stavro Blofeld took over and stole Whyte's identity, Saxby betrayed Whyte and became Blofeld's new right-hand man. Bond pretended to be Saxby, in order to find out the whereabouts of Willard Whyte. After Bond rescued Whyte, Blofeld sends Bert Saxby to assassinate Willard Whyte. Saxby attempts to kill him and Bond, but is shot and killed by CIA agents. Willard Whyte says after Saxby is killed "Tell him he's fired!"
