Alternate Universe Bertram is the main antagonist of the 2012 video game Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse.
He is Bertram from an alternate universe where he is ready to take down Brian and Stewie so that he can take over the multiverse.
Like his original counterpart, he is voiced by Wallace Shawn.
Biography[]
Upon reaching the town square, Stewie and Brian are stunned to find their hometown has been plunged into utter chaos. Bertram appears, not alone, but with a weaponized Tyrannosaurus Rex, greeting Stewie and revealing his true plan. It turns out that Bertram wasn't building armies across the universes they visited; he was simply luring them into dangerous situations to get them killed. His assistant, Gus, was the one busy assembling the true force: an army of alternate-reality Bertrams, who arrive on the scene along with the T-Rex.
Bertram reveals his ultimate weapon: a bomb designed to exponentially tear a universe apart. He explains that the act of universe hopping naturally creates tears in reality. His bomb is engineered to exploit and magnify these tears, triggering a chain reaction that will suck Stewie's entire universe into oblivion.
The most vulnerable spot, with the highest concentration of tears, is near Stewie's house, as that's the central hub for their and Bertram's inter-universal travel. With his plan in motion, Bertram heads toward the bomb to activate it. The massive T-Rex immediately demonstrates its threat by devouring an innocent bystander. Seeing this, Stewie and Brian arm themselves and plunge into battle against both the T-Rex and Bertram's army, fighting their way back toward the Griffin house.
If Stewie and Brian manage to defeat the Tyrannosaurus, Bertram tumbles out of the wreckage. He desperately begs for his life and offers Stewie a deal: to rule the multiverse together. Stewie refuses, but instead of killing Bertram himself, he and Brian feed him to the T-Rex. They then finish the job by shooting the dinosaur to death. The Griffin family is relieved the boys are safe, but Brian worries that an alternate Bertram will inevitably appear from another universe. Stewie breaks the fourth wall by responding that this will depend on "how much money the game will make them.
If the T-Rex makes it to the Griffin family house, Bertram declares his victory, activates the bomb hidden in the T-Rex's back, and escapes to another universe. The T-Rex then eats Meg. As Brian is left to ponder what comes next, the entire world explodes. A giggling Peter Griffin is shown hurdling through the vacuum of space, declaring, "You lose.
