Beverly "Bev" Slater is a fictional character and supporting antagonist of the BBC British soap opera EastEnders. She appeared as a major antagonist in 2018 and 2019.

She was portrayed by Ashley McGuire.

Biography

Bev Slater first came to Albert Square at Walford, a fictional borough in East London, in September 2018. She reacquaints herself with her estranged daughter, Hayley, and convinces her to go out for a drink with her. But later on the pair get into an altercation when Hayley learns that her mother is planning to use her for a scam; in the scuffle Hayley is injured, but her mothe rignores this and instead flees in a taxi.

Later on, Hayley gives birth to a baby not long after her altercation with her mother. Thereafter she lets the child get adopted and goes to reconcile with her mother, who later visits the baby's adoptive parents. Soon enough fellow relative Kat Slater confronts them for neglecting the baby, as Hayley has been struggling to cope with motherhood and Bev has done little to nothing to contribute to her neborn granddaughter.

As time goes on, Bev attempts to convince Hayley that she cannot be a good mother and let the child be adopted. Hayley eventually agrees to this, which leads to some consequences for the Slater Family as they blame Bev for everything that has happened in the incident.
