Big Daddy is the main antagonist of the 2017 Chinese war film Wolf Warrior 2.
He is played by Frank Grillo, who also played Crossbones by Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Biography[]
Big Daddy is the leader of mercenary army Dyon Corps that works with Roach, Athena, Ghost and Great Bear for the Red Scarf rebel army in Africa. Three years ago, Big Daddy allegedly killed Long Xiaoyun, the girlfriend of former Chinese soldier Leng Feng, and left a bullet behind. After being forced out of the army, Leng traveled to Africa with the bullet in an attempt to get revenge on him.
To allow Lamanla to develop, rebels and mercenaries are looking for Dr Chen, who makes the vaccine. Unable to get information from the African prime minister, Roach and his men shot him and the other African soldiers present. Meanwhile, Big Daddy, after learning from an African official that Chen was St. Francis in a chinese-involved hospital, had his men kill him and several other officials.
Athena and Great Bear raided the hospital looking for Chen, but didn't expect former Chinese soldier Leng Feng to come to the rescue. Although Chen dies in the process, they try to chase Leng Feng, doctor Rachel and the Little girl Pasha, but fail.
The Red Scarf rebel army general wasn't just angry at the Dyon Corps for killing Chen. But Big Daddy didn't like it and started targeting Pasha and Leng Feng and had his men blow up the hospital and kill the rest of the survivors.
Following Leng's trail, the mercenaries arrived at the Hanbond factory at night and made a surprise attack. Leng and the head of the factory's security team, He Jianguo, and the head of the factory, Zhuo Yifan, tried to fight back. Roach, looking for Pasha, wrestles with Leng and is killed in the process. Angry Big Daddy had the mercenaries surround Leng and try to kill him, but had to retreat on the general's orders. The general was angry that the Dyon Corps had massacred the Chinese because he feared that China, as a permanent member of the Security Council, would not recognize his regime. The bored Big Daddy killed the general, and his men killed the general's henchman. Big Daddy then made the general's deputy the leader of the rebellion and continued to attack the factory the next day.
When rebels and mercenaries captured the factory, Leng planned to sneak into the hostages' location and release them, killing the Ghost in the process. Leng, He, and Zhuo rearmed against the enemy. Athena and Great Bear were killed by three men. However, Big Daddy, the rebel deputy and his men arrived with tanks and held the factory down for a while. As rebels and mercenaries were slaughtering the factory, the Angry People's Liberation Army Navy Captain ordered the fleet to fire missiles at the rebels and mercenaries after receiving permission, the Rebels' deputy, soldiers and mercenaries were all but eliminated.
Big Daddy fights Leng on his own. Before the fight, Big Daddy claimed responsibility for Long's death and used Long to taunt Leng, which led to angry Leng attacking him. After a brief hand-to-hand combat, Big Daddy attacks Leng with a bayonet, causing Leng to fall to the ground. In trying to kill Leng, Big Daddy taunts Leng as being weaker than he is, making it impossible for him to save the others. Leng caught the gap, pinned Big Daddy Down, and used the bullet that killed Long to repeatedly pierce Big Daddy's temple. With the last stab to the temple, Big Daddy Was Dead, and Leng made a sarcastic comment in his ear.
However, People's Liberation Army later find out that Long wasn't actually killed by Big Daddy, leading Leng to continue looking for her.

- Frank Grillo was upset with the Chinese subtitles for the line in the movie where Big Daddy tries to kill Leng Feng, because Frank thought the original meaning was that Big Daddy thinks Leng Feng is too weak to beat him, and the Chinese subtitle means Big Daddy despises China.
