Biggie Bear is the titular main protagonist of South African PSA trilogy of the same name created in 2004 by the Parents For Responsible Viewing or PFRV.
He is a man in a brown bear costume who serves as the host of his titular "children's show." In each PSA, he encounters another character, but as the PSAs go on, the episodes become darker, eventually leading to Biggie committing a violent act towards the other character. activities.
He was portrayed by actor and comedian Rob Van Vuuren.
Biography[]
Biggie Bear Says Hello[]
In the first PSA, Biggie Bear greets the audience. Before he can announce what they could do Biggie is interrupted by Mr. Rabbit, who also wanted to say hello. Biggie informs Mr. Rabbit about how he was told not to come to the garden anymore, proclaiming that this is his show. Regardless, Mr. Rabbit disobeys Biggie's wishes and greets the child audience. Suddenly Biggie loses it, pushes Mr. Rabbit to the ground and punches him in the face. He then takes out a gun, and aims it in Mr. Rabbit's mouth, all while he yells about what happens when he comes to his garden. As the screen fades to black and the PSA's tagline appears, a gunshot is heard, indicating that Mr. Rabbit was shot dead.
Biggie Bear's Surprise[]
Biggie appears greeting the audience and looks at the sun. As he does, Mr. Spotty enters the garden, proclaiming that he is sad and that he doesn't know why. As he slumps to the ground, Biggie sits next to him with a "thing to cheer him up", before beginning to boil a spoon of heroin. Mr. Spotty is unsure, but Biggie re-assures him by saying that that it's something everyone does. He then injects the heroin into Mr. Spotty's arm, causing him to get high and moan happily. Biggie looks at the camera, telling the children it's easy to be happy again. As he leaves and the screen fades to black, Mr. Spotty's moans are continuing to be heard.
Biggie Bear Meets a Friend[]
Biggie appears greeting the audience and offers them to take a walk with him. On his walk he comes across Ms. Pussycat, who was picking flowers. Biggie proclaims that Ms. Pussycat is as beautiful as the flowers she was picking. Tensions soon rise as the two begin moving their hands around their body. Biggie then suddenly begins groping Ms. Pussycat, before laying her onto a haystack and raping her. The screen fades to black as the intercourse is heard.
