| “ | Your dad made you follow instructions, didn’t he? I’m talking about the custody battle between your mum and your dad. Your dad didn’t play fair, did he? He used to make your mum look bad in court. And I’m so sorry that happened to you. Do you want to talk about how that felt? [...] I suppose I don’t need you to tell me it felt bad to have a parent scare you into saying things that weren’t true. He manipulated you. It wasn’t your fault. It’s really sad, but it’s common for one parent to use their child to hurt the other parent. I know your mum ***** after she lost the custody case. | „ |
| ~ Vanessa's therapist talking about Bill's manipulation of her. |
Bill A. is a minor character in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. He is only mentioned in the secret tapes in the game. He was the abusive father of Vanessa, the security guard for Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, who blackmailed her to falsely testify against his wife in a custody battle.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Bill A.'s past other than the fact that he married a woman and had a child with her named Vanessa about 24 years prior to the events of Security Breach. Their family life was a dysfunctional one however and Bill and his wife eventually divorced each other, leading to a custody battle over Vanessa.
During the case, Bill threatened his daughter into testifying against and demonizing her mother in court. This proved successful as he would win custody over Vanessa. His ex-wife would go on to apparently commit suicide. It's currently unknown whether or not Bill is still alive as of Security Breach, although he is said to be known by one of Vanessa's therapists.
Speculation[]
- Due to the first name and beginning initial, Bill is possibly in some way a tie towards William Afton.
- In the Blumhouse film continuity, Vanessa is actually William Afton's daughter, which might reflect her status as an Afton in the games. However, given how Blumhouse seems to be taking creative liberties with the franchise's lore, it's unknown how valid of an evidence this is.
- If this is true, this points towards that the events of the Follow Me minigames and, subsequently, Afton getting springlocked way later than it was originally speculated in order for him to father another child. This was first hinted at in the Fazbear Frights story, You're The Band, which is estimated to take place around 2015.
- Others speculate that Bill is an allegory for the Glitchtrap virus, created by Vanessa to subtly explain what her mind is going through because of it.
