William "Billy" Ghillotti is a minor antagonist in the 2002 crime-based shooter Mafia: City of Lost Heaven and it's 2020 remaster.
Biography[]
Background[]
William Ghillotti was born at one point in the 1910s in Lost Heaven, Indiana to Roberto Ghillotti and an unnamed mother. While growing up, he made friends with Johnny and established a gang of hoodlums. He would then walk the streets at night with his gang harassing women, until he met Sarah Marino. After he began to continuously harass her, her father, Luigi Marino told Tommy Angelo to accompany her one night.
Rivalry with the Salieri Crime Family[]
The next day, Tommy walked Sarah home where they ran into Johnny and Billy. They began to sexually harass Sarah and started threatening Tommy. They then got into a brawl, and was ultimately defeated by Tommy. Billy and Johnny later ran back to their hideout, waiting for the day to stick it to the Salieri family.
Death[]
Days later, Ennio Salieri ordered Tommy and Paulie Lombardo to go the the hoodlums hideout to make sure they don't harass Sarah or anyone else ever again. After beating up some gang members, Johnny whipped out his pistol, ensuing a gun fight. After Tommy and Paulie swept through the building and killed half of the hoodlums, Billy and Johnny got into a car to escape. However, Salieri's men chased them down in the pouring rain, causing them to crash. Johnny was knocked unconscious while Billy sustained major injuries. In a last ditch effort, he tried to persuade Tommy to spare him, but was ultimately shot in the side of the head by Paulie.
Legacy[]
Days later, Salieri calls Paulie, Tommy and Sam Trapani into the room to inform them of Johnny's survival. Sam went to St. Michael's church while Tommy went to a Whorehouse to kill Howard Davis. After killing Davis, Tommy made his way to the Church after killing some of Marcu Morello's thugs and cops. He would infiltrate the funeral, and end up killing the remaining street hoodlums, but would be held at gunpoint by an injured Johnny. After a brief confrontation, Sam walked into the room and shot Johnny in the side of the head.
In 1935, Roberto mentioned Billy in his birthday speech and partnership with Morello shortly before being killed by Tommy.
