Biography[]
Early Life[]
Billy Handsome was born presumably in the mid-to-late 1900s and lost his mother when he was young. He looked up to gangster Salvatore DeLuca and Michael "Finn" O'Leary, and wanted to work for him since he was young. Eventually, Billy joined DeLuca's gang, and would take care of the "dirty work" that Sal did not participate in. He also specialized in dealing with Sal's enemies in gruesome ways that would make headlines and became a mutual rival with Finn.
Alcatraz[]
By the 1930s, Billy and the gang were convicted for their crimes, with Handsome being convinced of 116 counts of murders. Along with Sal, Finn and Albert "Weasel" Arlington, Billy was sentenced to Alcatraz Island. Due to Billy refusing to admit his actions and not feeling remorse for his crimes, he was diagnosed as mentally ill. According to Weasel, Billy spent a lot of his time in Alcatraz enduring psyche tests due to his illness, but Billy refused to acknowledge his errors.
While in Alcatraz, Billy, Sal and Finn were talked into escaping the prison by Weasel, who devised a plan to fly off the roof with a makeshift plane. The plan didn't work out, and the mobsters blamed Weasel for the plan's failure. The trio then lured Weasel to the roof of the asylum, and they brutally murdered him. For the murder of Arlington, Billy, Sal and Finn were sentenced to death in the electric chair and were executed on January 19, 1934.
Mob of the Dead[]
The group awoke in Alcatraz again with no memory of the escape plan's failure and attempted to escape once again. Before they could make it out of the cell block, they were attacked by zombies and killed. The group were taken to the afterlife, where they could revive themselves and try to escape the prison. While fighting zombies and the warden in a hellish iteration of Alcatraz, the group learn of their failure to escape and murdering Arlington in the real world. Upon learning this, Billy and his fellow mobsters set out to kill Weasel again, but their success is up to the player. In Canon, after betrayed and killed Weasel, Billy, along with Sal and Finn were sentenced to death in electric chairs by the Warden in 1934.
In Non-Canon, if Billy, DeLuca and Finn succeed in killing Weasel, the cycle continues and are revived each time in the afterlife. Canonically, Weasel kills the three mobsters, and assumes the form of a bird to roam around the island as a spirit.
Blood of the Dead[]
Billy appears in "Blood of the Dead" as a form of spirit that roams the island and helps the Primis crew. Billy and his fellow mobsters prevent the warden from capturing Primis again while Weasel leads the way, and Billy is released from purgatory along with the other souls trapped in the realm. Afterward, Billy and the group are later erased from existence due to Nikolai Belinski wiping all of the zombie's multiverse.
