Biography[]
After Jay Lawson gets arrested by his own father and Eliot after pulling a prank on the school principal with a toy snake and mousetrap, Officer Lawson and Officer Eliot receive an order from dispatch for an incident at Dharla's, a fast food restaurant. It turns out that two robbers named Billy and Teddy have taken many of the employees hostage, as well as threatening to open fire on the police.
The two policemen hear gunshots upon arriving, with Officer Lawson calling for backup. Jay, however, believes that it's just another prank they set up, so he wanders into the restaurant through the backdoor that was unlocked, in which Teddy orders Billy to lock it, and for Jay to lie down next to the other hostages. However, he refuses as he still thinks it's a prank until Teddy shoots his gun again in the air.
A chef who is another hostage warns Jay to comply with Billy and Teddy. Officer Lawson asks if any of the hostages were injured, and Billy says that Jay wandered into the restaurant and caused trouble, making Officer Lawson panic as he knew that Jay wasn't in the backseat. Billy and Teddy then try making a plan to escape by stealing Jay's backpack. However, they find a toy snake in there, making them drop their guns in fear. The police then arrest Billy and Teddy afterward and give them a long prison sentence. At their cell, Billy pleads for a second chance, but Officer Lawson tells him that decision is not his to make, but a judge's.
Trivia[]
- The name of the restaurant the robbers broke into, Dharla's, is actually a mix of both Dhar Mann's name and his wife's, Laura's name.
