William H. Bonney, more infamouly known as Billy the Kid, is the secondary antagonist of the Lucky Luke franchise.
He is loosely based on the Old West outlaw Billy the Kid. Unlike his real-life counterpart, who was a feared outlaw that killed numerous men, Billy in the comic series is depicted as a 14-year-old outlaw with childish mannerisms. He is also one of Luke's most feared and recurring foes (rivaling even The Daltons).
In French, he was voiced by Guy Piérauld in the 1983 animated series, and by Donald Reignoux in The New Adventures of Lucky Luke.
Appearances[]
In earlier comics, Billy had a completely different design, and was instead depicted as an overweight man with a similar personality.
His current incarnation however, a literal interpretation of his name, presents him as a redheaded teenage boy with buck-teeth. He is usually seen wearing a pair of jeans, brown leather boots, a red shirt, a gray vest, and a black hat.
Personality[]
True to his name, Billy is generally bratty and somewhat childish, and is prone to temper tantrums. Despite this however, he is generally very intimidating.
Biography[]
Past[]
When he was just an infant, Billy was very tempermental, throwing tantrums when displeased. The only thing that seemed to keep him calm was the family's revolvers, which wasn't loaded. Eventually, years later, when he found some catridges in the family's drawers, he started showing quite reckless and criminal behaviour, to the point where he robbed his first stagecoacg.
However, anytime he did activities such as this, his father, Mr. Bonney would whip him. After being threatened by his father that he will not have dessert forever if he continues his criminal activity, Billy leaves home to become an outlaw.
Billy the Kid[]
Billy first debuts as the main antagonist of the comic of the same name, which introduces him as an infamous criminal that many towns he ambushed had feared. The comic shows that he even scared the Daltons away when they confronted him. Though there was a prize for his head, no sheriff had ever dared to go and arrest him.
