Birdie is a major character in Sonic Prime. She is a giant Flicky who lives in the Boscage Maze. She is also the pet of Thorn Rose.
Biography[]
When the Scavengers start to take food, Birdie helps Thorn Rose (Amy's Boscage Maze counterpart) kick them out of the jungle. Some time later, Sonic arrives at the Boscage Maze, and he mistakes Birdie for the "monster" that the Scavengers are scared of. At that moment, Thorn attacks Sonic, thinking that he's a Scavenger too. After several failed attempts, Sonic manages to convince Thorn and the Scavengers to reconcile with each other. He also tells Mangey (Tails' Boscage Maze counterpart) and Birdie to fly in the sky.
When the Chaos Council and Tails Nine (Tails' New Yoke City/Grim counterpart) go to the Boscage Maze to look for the next Paradox Prism shard, Thorn tells Birdie to hide it in her mouth. Afterward, Sonic asks Thorn to give him the shard, so that he can get rid of the Chaos Council. And when Birdie spits the shard out of her mouth, Sonic and the Chaos Council are disgusted. Despite this, Sonic grabs the shard, and tries to lure the Chaos Council away from the jungle, while Thorn, Birdie, and the Scavengers destroy the robots and protect the Boscage Maze. A little while later, Rusty Rose and Black Rose (Amy's New Yoke City and No Place counterparts) arrive with their pirate crew, so that they can stop the Chaos Council from taking the shards away from Sonic and Tails Nine. And when Rusty and Black Rose see Thorn flying on Birdie, they're surprised to see her because she looks like them.
After Tails Nine's betrayal, Sonic, Shadow, the Chaos Council, and everyone from the Shatterspaces team up to stop him. During the battle, Birdie and Thorn rescue Rusty and Black Rose when their ship gets destroyed. Once they land on the ground, Rusty thanks Thorn for rescuing her and Black Rose. She also tells her that they owe her their lives. And then, Thorn tells Rusty and Black Rose that they would do the same thing for her. She even calls them her sisters, much to Birdie's happiness as she screeches for joy. Afterward, the three Roses work together to stop Tails Nine. But when the Shatterspaces start to destabilize, Tails Nine realizes that he has made a mistake, and he apologizes to Sonic. And then, Tails Nine tells Sonic that the world will end without a great sacrifice. Because of this, their friends start to feel worried, and Rusty tells her new sisters, Thorn and Black Rose, that it has been an honor. After sacrificing himself to save the Shatterspaces, Sonic starts to lose his energy. Thankfully, Tails Nine manages to bring Green Hill back. But since the gateway won't stay open for long, Shadow has to help Sonic get home before it destabilizes. Just before he leaves, Sonic says goodbye to Birdie, the Roses, and the rest of his Shatterverse friends. And then, he goes back to Green Hill with Shadow.
