“ | Like a bug to a zapper! I won't lie, I though the dinosaur would finish you off, but if trapping you will get you out of my way too then who am I to complain? I'd tell you a fitting joke but you humans just never seem to get them. The closest people to me denied me what I was made to do; people who were genetically-programmed to laugh at my every joke! They cited some end-of-the-world scenario where whatever's in the queen's pouch escapes if I make her laugh, but I'm not buying it. I was distraught, and I became dead set on making the ultimate jokester, but after failing time and time again, I realized something. I AM the ultimate jokester. There was nobody better to be made, even if by me. With the sheriff occupied thanks to you, reaching the queen will be a piece of cake. I will go now, because unlike you, my path to having my family back has never been clearer. | „ |

Bittergiggle, also known as The Jester, is a major character in the Garten of Banban series.
He is a former mascot of Banban's kindergarten, residing in the underground kingdom with Sheriff Toadster and Queen Bouncelia. He was once a devoted servant of the queen until he went rogue and became bent on making her laugh from one of his bad jokes and unleashing the Naughty Ones trapped within the former's pouch. He is Sheriff Toadster's friend and former archenemy and one of the allies and former enemies of the protagonist.
He was voiced by Ty Coker.
Appearance[]
Bittergiggle is a humanoid monster comprised of two halves split down the middle. The left half is blue, corrugated and completed with a slight frown on his face while the right half is smooth, green and sports an eerie grin.
Personality[]
Bittergiggle is an erratic, psychotic and unstable character. He has a love for causing chaos in his wake and misfortune to those around him, especially the ones in higher position, seemingly just for fun. He loves toying with the player and the other kindergarten mascots and enjoys seeing the player trapped, even taunting them for losing their child within the facility.
In Chapter VI, he expressed remorse for his actions in chapter IV, and appears to join the protagonist and Banban to help them find the scepter. However, when the Naughty Ones laughed at his jokes, he also appeared to switch sides again, reconsidering his remorse whilst abandoning the player, though this led him to being Hellish-Naughtified.
In Chapter VII, when he is Hellish-Naughtified, he falsely accuses the player for hating his jokes, and chases after with the intention to kill then. However, when Sheriff Toadster threw one of his Toadstars at his chest, Bittergiggle returns to normal, and is brought back to his benevolent senses. During his last moments of his life, he asks Toadster to tell him a joke, and when he does, Bittergiggle is satisfied by this, perishing peacefully.
Biography[]
Garten of Banban III[]
Bittergiggle's only appearance in this game, is on a picture the player can find, after defeating Tamataki & Chamataki. The image depicts the latter two, and Zolphius, together. After the hellish Banban chase and the latter’s fight with Jumbo Josh and Stinger Flynn, the player reads a whiteboard, instructing them to not, let him find The Jester.
Garten of Banban IV[]
Bittergiggle's role is heavily enhanced, now serving as this games' main antagonist. As the player, Sheriff Toadster and Little Beak (Baby Opila), go in search of the first elevator piece, the player gets a brief glimpse of him, as they grab tickets to get to the first sector. They later end up trapped in a hallway, in which Bittergiggle attempts to lure them, by using his snake arm, as a trap. He then retreats, after Toadster uses a toadstar on him.
Later on, after having defeated Kittysaurus, Bittergiggle locks them inside a room, now preparing to achieve his goal, of making Queen Bouncelia laugh. The player, however, escapes, but it's now far too late, as Kittysaurus and Bittergiggle successfully invade the kingdom, and knock out Toadster. The two approach Bouncelia, and Little Beak turns monsterous and attacks Kittysaurus, as a result of falling into a Givanium tub. Despite being fully aware of the consequences of making the queen laugh, Bittergiggle claims that he's told himself "some things, are more important than laughter", and sights his desires of making her laugh, as his motivation. Then, he unleashes his joke; "What did the train conductor say to the kangaroo? Hop on!" This, results in disaster plauging the kingdom, as Bouncelia laughs, unleashing The Naughty Ones. Toadster and the player then make a mad dash to the elevator, with a presumably unconscious Stinger Flynn unknowingly coming along, after Toadster grabbed him, when letting the rest of the prisoners escape.
Garten of Banban 6[]
Bittergiggles role in Garten of Banban 6 is much different than in Garten of Banban 4, as he now regrets his actions in the previous game. Bittergiggle meets up with the player in the Introduction Sector, hoping to help the player and their friends unlock the room with the scepter and make up for freeing the naughty ones and trying to kill the player. After the player activates the three lights and directs them to the white board, the room goes dark and the player and Bittergiggle hide in a nearby room. While they are waiting for the lights to turn back on, Sir Dadadoo tries to trick them into thinking that he’s Banban and tries to convince them to let him in, although they do not let him in. After the lights go back on, the player activates the switch they came for while Bittergiggle says he is going try to think of some jokes so Sheriff Toadster doesn’t attack him.
When the player and Bittergiggle arrive at the base, Sheriff Toadster is not happy to see him and accuses the player of working with Bittergiggle all along behind his back. Sheriff Toadster then tries to send The Player and Bittergiggle to the darkness for the Naughty Ones to decide their fate, but just as they were about to fight, a naughty one shows up and takes Banbaleena away, forcing Sheriff Toadster to run after her while Bittergiggle and the player run to safety. After making it back to the light, they are then confronted by Stinger Flynn, who refers them as “The Duo of Destruction.” After a small talk with Stinger Flynn, Bittergiggle tells the player to head to the potentiality sector.
At the Potentiality Sector, the player meets up with Banban, who ends up getting attacked by Sir Dadadoo after solving a few puzzles. When Sir Dadadoo tries to attack the player, Bittergiggle steps in and saves the player and Banban, but gets knocked out in the process. After the player goes back down and opens the purple door, Bittergiggle meets up with the player and helps him get the door to the second switch open by turning off the alarms while the player protects him from the Naughty Ones. After they succeed and activate the switch, this win brings Bittergiggles spirits up and makes him tell a joke. This joke makes The Naughty Ones laugh, which he is excited about! When Bittergiggle and The Player get back to base, they meet up with Banban, who informs Bittergiggle that Kittysaurus showed up while they were gone. Bittergiggle goes to see Kittysaurus while the player goes to see Stinger Flynn. After The Player wakes up from Stinger Flynn’s dream, Bittergiggle gives him a keycard for the final sector and told them that Banban already went over there, Bittergiggle then asks the player why Banban likes being called Uthman and not Banban.
After The Player and Banban get back from activating the final switch, the three of them finally enter the scepter room to grab it. Right when they are about to eject the scepter, Nabnab shows up and hits it a bunch of times, causing the scepter to eject from the chest. However, they discover that the scepter is missing a piece which Bittergiggle believes Syringeon has it. Before they are able to do anything with the scepter, Sir Dadadoo enters the room with the intent of taking the scepter and destroying Bittergiggle, BanBan, Nabnab, and The Player. However, before Sir Dadadoo is able to do anything, Banban injects Nabnab with Givanium, making Nabnab giant, giving him a fighting chance against Sir Dadadoo. While Nabnab and Sir Dadadoo are fighting, Bittergiggle runs from the naughty ones with Banban and The Player. However, right when they were about to reach the elevator down to the next floor, Bittergiggle realizes that he has a chance to have The Naughty Ones be his audience, so he stays back in an attempt to tell them jokes and have them laugh. However, it is presumed that this did not go his way as he shows up one more time at the end of the game now possessed by Sir Dadadoo and is part of his army. The Player goes down to the next floor to look for Syringeon while Bittergiggle and the rest of Sir Dadadoo’s Army attack Banban, heavily injuring him.
Garten of Banban 7[]
Bittergiggle has a smaller role in Garten of Banban 7, he is now being Mind Controlled by Sir Dadadoo along with 6 other mascots. Bittergiggle first appears in the top floor of the Cityngeon Motel after the player goes to investigate while the resident living there is screaming. Bittergiggle then reveals himself to the player and claims that the player always hated his jokes. Bittergiggle then chases The Player across the rooftops of Cityngeon, and just as Bittergiggle was about to catch the player, Sheriff Toadster arrives just in time to save The Player.
Bittergiggle shows up again a minute later and attacks Sheriff Toadster. Sheriff Toadster then throws a Toadstar at Bittergiggle to defend himself, but accidentally kills Bittergiggle. The Player then walks out to see Bittergiggle back to normal, but fatally injured by the toadstar on his chest. Bittergiggle then asks Sheriff Toadster to tell him a joke as he has never experienced that before. After Bittergiggle hears the joke and understands it, he passes on, now having truly made amends with Sheriff Toadster and The Player.
