Biwaki Masashige is a minor antagonist in the 2021 Roblox story horror game The Mimic; serving as a supporting antagonist in Control's Book: Chapter I.
She is the daughter of Kaito Masashige, as well as the younger sister of Mihari Masashige.
Appearance[]
Alive[]
Biwaki appears as a young girl with black hair tied in a bun, a white long sleeved dress with a rosy pink flower crown.
Monster[]
When in her monstrous form, Biwaki is a Japanese girl with incredibly pale skin, a white nightgown, and a wreath of pink and red flowers atop her head. She is equipped with a biwa that has two shapes on its body that resemble crescent moons. Her hair is black, and her face is noticeably maniacal—her eyes and eye sockets are dark and deep, her minuscule pupils completely white. Biwaki’s smile is enormous, bearing all of her yellowed teeth with a visible gum line. Biwaki's mouth and eyes drip black liquid.
Personality[]
Much like Hiachi, Biwaki was a kind and loving little girl who loved her family. She is also shown to be very excited when her father comes home, welcoming him with a smile on her face and warm hugs.
Biography[]
Past[]
Biwaki was once the daughter of Kaito and Niko Masashige, and the younger sister of Mihari Masashige. One day, Biwaki's mother left her and her family to fend for themselves once their poverty got worse.
After Kaito came back from helping a woman, he was awarded with a biwa. He began to teach her how to play the biwa, and eventually managed to learn to play it herself. However, little did they know was that the biwa they were gifted with was cursed. By the time they realized it, it was already too late. Biwaki began to cry as her father went to confront him. They eventually became victims of the witch's curse.
Control's Book[]
Sometime after Yasu goes through Hiachi's maze, he winds up in a small village and meets a farmer (presumably a spirit) who warns him that if he hears the sound of a biwa playing, it's probably already too late. After Yasu escapes from Shizu, he ends up in a hotel. After walking down a hallway, he gets jumpscared by Kuriko. Yasu then goes to an elevator while passing Hamburgerch33se (another victim of the witch who somehow ended up in the hotel),[1] and ends up on another floor. With the help of a map, Yasu is able to get pass Biwaki who is chasing him through the floor, only to be jumpscared by Kuriko again before entering the elevator to the next floor.

Trivia[]
- Despite being a year old than Hiachi, Biwaki appears to be shorter than her.
- Biwaki is the only monster in the entire game to be based on a Japanese deity rather than a Yōkai, with the deity being Benzaiten.
- Biwaki's jumpscare animation shows her hitting Yasu with her biwa. This is a reference to a video from a YouTuber named ItsFunneh, where her oldest sister, Rainbow says, "She smacked you with the biwu!" and Funneh adds "She hit me with the biwu!".
- The song that Biwaki plays on her biwa is called "Fantasy of Waves".
- In the village that Yasu ends up in before encountering Shizu, a spirit of Biwaki can be seen. Getting close to it however results in a disorienting jumpscare.
- The kanji for her nickname "Biwaki" (琵琶気) mean "Biwa" and "Spirit, air".
- Her real name is confirmed to be "Hana".
- The kanji for this name (花) means "flower".
- Biwaki is confirmed to be 9 years old, born in 1883 and cursed by Kintoru in 1892[2].
- She is one of the shortest monsters in the game the shortest monster in Control's Book.
- Lore writers have confirmed that Biwaki and Kuriko are cousins[3].
- Biwaki is considered the easiest monster to juke or avoid in the entire game, as due to her poor AI, she frequently stops in the last position of where the player stood before; as well as being extremely slow.
- Biwaki is one of the only two characters in The Mimic to have an official plushie modeled after them; the other being Kintoru.
