~ Black Beet's warning to the B-Fighters. |
Black Beet, known in his human identity as Shadow, is a clone of Takuya Kai/Blue Beet created by the Jamahl to destroy the B-Fighters and the secondary antagonist of Juukou B-Fighter.
He is voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya and portrayed in his human form by Keisuke Tsuchiya. When he transforms into Black Beet, His suit actor is Jiro Okamoto, who was previously the suit actor for Bill Goldy in Tokusou Robo Janperson.
History[]
After discovering that the source of the B-Fighters' power was the insects of Earth, Emperor Gaohm sought to create an evil B-Fighter for the Jamahl to counter them. He summoned Sorceress Jagul after she awoke from her 300 year slumber and instructed her to create an evil B-Fighter for him. To accomplish this, Sorceress Jagul called forth numerous bugs of Earth and took a sample of DNA from Takuya Kai/Blue Beet, combining it with them to give birth to Black Beet. Upon his creation, Black Beet sought to kill Takuya and affirm his own reason for existing.
In his initial fight against the B-Fighters, Black Beet caught them off guard and took on all three of them, forcing them to flee the scene. He later sought to fight Blue Beet one on one and challenged him to a duel while Jagul held off his comrades. However, through finding his own strength, Blue Beet managed to hold his own against Black Beet, prompting Black Beet to flee for the time being.
The Army Commanders of the Jamahl soon became envious of the increasing favoritism Gaohm was showing to Black Beet. To prove himself, Gigaro created the Synthoid-Beast Kamazakiller and sought to take out the B-Fighters and conquer the Earth by having it incubate people with its spawn. Gaohm took an interest in Gigaro's plan, but instructed him to take Black Beet with him on his mission, much to Gigaro's frustration. In its initial confrontation with the B-Fighters, Kamazakiller incubated numerous civilians along with G-Stag and Reddle with its children, forcing the B-Fighters to flee and bring those who'd been made hosts by it to safety. After Gigaro returned to the Jamahl Fortress with Kamazakiller, Black Beet suggested to him he keep Kamazakiller hidden until its children hatched from their hosts, as if she died her children would perish with it. With Kamazakiller and Gigaro out of the way, Black Beet went to Earth to face Blue Beet again. Upon discovering that Black Beet was fighting Blue Beet, Gigaro believed that he wanted to claim all the glory for himself and angrily went to Earth with Kamazakiller to defeat Blue Beet first. However, G-Stag showed up to assist Blue Beet and Reddle delivered him a new drill weapon, which Blue Beet used to wound Black Beet and destroy Kamazakiller. Caught off guard by his injury, Black Beet retreated back onto the Jamahl Fortress.
Shadow eventually began to suffer pain, as due to being a clone he had a short-lived lifespan. When Gaohm began preparations to claim Saint Papilia and use her to become immortal, Shadow sought out Saint Papillia for himself to use her to prolong his life, leading him to desert the Jamahl. He would later approach Jera and attempt to persuade her to leave Jamahl, telling her that Gaohm was only using her. At first, Jera refused to listen until she witnessed Gaohm kill Gigaro, causing her to turn against Gaohm after mourning her friend's death, specially after taking in account the words Shadow said to her, with him succeeding in manipulating her. He would later transform into Black Beet to save Jera from a maddened Schwartz, who tried to kill her, leading the two to spend time together.
Following Jera's death at the hands of Gaohm, Black Beet began searching for Saint Papilia again, after she escaped Gaohm's clutches when he tried to capture her. He found her recovering in a fortress and trapped her in a black ball. After the B-Fighters destroyed Gaohm, Takuya went to confront Black Beet and rescue Saint Papilia while Daisaku and Mai dealt with the Jamahl Hole. In a climactic battle, Black Beet faced Blue Beet and was defeated by Super Blue Beet's finisher. With his final breaths, Black Beet stabbed Blue Beet and fatally wounded him before falling to the ground and dying of his wounds, disappearing and leaving behind a pile of beetles along with his Black Commander. Black Beet's Black Commander was later tossed in the ocean by Takuya after he was healed by Saint Papilia.
Personality[]
Shadow's way of thinking is really enigmatic, he mostly shows a rather serious and cold personality, just having two objectives: Defeat Takuya and Become immortal. With him wanting to succeed in these goals no matter what it costs him, later on in the series, he becomes close to Jera in order for her to help him in his plans, although, later on, Shadow shows that he genuinely cares about Jera after she dies.
Eventually as the series goes on, Black Beet grows more and more hatred and envy towards Takuya, despising him for creating him and for now forcing him to search a reason to keep living. Shadow starts thinking that eventually, if he manages to kill Takuya Kai and gain immortality, he will be able to finally obtain his own identity.
He is later targeted on by Gaohm, who is angry at Shadow for screwing up his plans and putting Jera against him, however, he thankfully manages to evade him, however, he would still die after the wounds he received from his battle against Takuya, with him showing some slight respect for the latter as he curses himself for not being able to finish his goal, however, he later goes out with a smile when he sees that Takuya also respects him and that he considers him a 'worthy opponent'.
