Felicia Hardy, better known as the Black Cat, is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mary Jane Watson) of the 2008 video game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

She is an on and off cat burglar and is one of the two love interests of Spider-Man (alongside Mary Jane Watson).

She was voiced by Tricia Helfer, who also voiced Boodikka in Green Lantern: First Flight, the same character in The Spectacular Spider-Man, and portrayed Charlotte Richards/Goddess in the urban fantasy series Lucifer.

Biography[]

She first appears leaving Fisk Towers with Spider-Man presuming that she is working for Kingpin, after a chase, she steals something from the Spector Industries Building, then after Spider-Man explains the situation to Moon Knight, Spider-Man and Black Cat fight, after Spider-Man defeats Black Cat, Black Cat escapes to go back to her penthouse, then Black Cat reveals that she was actually working as a double agent trying to thwart the Kingpin's illegal activities in an attempt to impress Spider-Man. Black Cat then tells Spider-Man to be with her and they can be free from responsibility and free to have fun, (if the player chooses the good path, Spider-Man would say no and leave her to go ask Moon Knight for help much to Black Cat's dismay) (If you take the dark path, Spider-Man agrees and Black Cat promises him that the city will be Spider-Man's and that they will take it away from Kingpin).

Black Cat helps Spider-Man stop the Kingpin's plans, later on, after Wolverine appears, Black Cat doesn't appear until Symbiote Electro's minions show up, she helps Spider-Man find the source of these Electro symbiotes. Later on, Black Cat gets possessed by a symbiote, then turns into Symbiote Black Cat; she fights Spider-Man due to being under the symbiote's influence, then when Mary Jane comes to help Spider-Man, she orders the other symbiotes to kill MJ, at the end of the fight, Black Cat tries to finish off MJ, but then Spider-Man saves MJ, then throws Black Cat all the way to a ledge of a cooling tower, knocking her out, with the symbiote now removed. Black Cat is now too injured, and then falls unconscious.

Spider-Man worried that Black Cat might be gone, (if you choose the red path, Spider-Man puts Black Cat on the S.H.I.E.L.D. hovercraft for her to get medical attention), (if you choose the dark path, Spider-Man possesses Black Cat with his own symbiote, showing MJ that he actually loves Black Cat, Black Cat is happy, while MJ is heartbroken, then breaks up with Peter, then leaves, after Venom is defeated, in the villain ending, Spider-Man and Black Cat are now king and queen of the city, being the new rulers of the symbiotes.

She is portrayed as the evil counterpart for Mary Jane Watson, as she loves Black-Suited Spider-Man, while Mary Jane Watson loves Red-Suited Spider-Man.
