The Black Crayon is the main antagonist of the Studio C sketch "The Crayon Song Gets Ruined". He's a main character in the in-universe TV show The Wonderful Show's Imaginary Fun Learning Emporium-Palooza Extravaganza Hour, For Kids! who, unlike his fellow crayons in the show, is incredibly depressed and nihilistic and seeks to ruin their song. He also, seemingly, wants to teach their child audience to be like him.
He was played by Adam Berg.
Appearance[]
Black appears as a large, anthropomorphic black crayon. He has long black hair, black boots, and a large cone hat. He looks roughly in his late 20's to early 30's and most always has a large frown. Down his torso, you can see the word Black and a larger brand name, simply just called CRAYON.
Biography[]
During the TV broadcast called the Wonderful Show's Imaginary Fun Learning Emporium-Palooza Extravaganza Hour (For Kids), Black, and his fellow colors (besides "Skin Color") exit the crayon box and arrange themselves in a circle, with black standing off to the side. As Red begins to sing, Black meanders over as she nearly finishing verse, ruining it by replacing the last few lyrics with "blood."
As the circle cycles, Orange sings his verse. Black ruins it again by yelling, "Prescription Bottle," over Orange, before ending it with, "Pills!" When Orange asks him about it, he responds by saying that this was what he was born to do. When Yellow starts her verse, Black simply says, "Jaundice!" over and over, and also throwing in, "Liver failure." This causes everyone, including Yellow, to accidentally yell, "Jaundice!" at the end of the verse.
Green goes next and sings a nasty verse about puking up green after eating a poisonous bug. Black was questioned by Brown about why he didn't intervene, and Black says he likes that verse. Blue goes up and starts to sing about the ocean, but Black completely takes over and sings about the Titanic. Purple, snaps and rebukes black, pushing him aside. When Purple starts his verse, Black returns with a taser and tases Purple, causing him to fall out of view. Black motions towards the other colors that he could tase them too.
Black forces Brown on stage. Brown sings a pathetic verse after forgetting the words and pleading not to get hurt. Black tases Brown and causes him to fall out of view. White goes up next and tries to steal Black's taser, but fails, as they both try to continue the verse. Black states that to buy Ivory from him, you can email him.
Black goes up himself and sings a deeply dark and disturbing verse about him being empty inside and, "an emotional mess." Purple jumps out into the camera and tackles Black, causing him to fall off stage and die.
