The Black Cross are the antagonistic faction of the third episode of the 1968 Cyborg 009 anime. They are a Neo-Nazi organization based in the South Pole.

History

The Black Cross kidnapped Dr. Kozumi and stole his Mad Machine, which they tested on some race car drivers. After transporting him to their base in the South Pole, the Black Cross kidnapped his daughter so they could use her to force Kozumi to build an even bigger Mad Machine for them to take over the world with.

However, Cyborg 007 was able to sneak aboard their plane and lead the other 00 Cyborgs to the Black Cross's base. The 00 Cyborgs then infiltrate the base, freed Kozumi and his daughter and escaped, pursued by the Black Cross's army of tanks.

Fortunately for the Cyborgs, 009 was able to steal the prototype Mad Machine pistol from the leader of the Black Cross, Commander Hora, and used it to destroy the Black Cross's war machines. With their army destroyed, Hora and his lieutenant retreated back to their base, which soon collapsed on them.
