The Black Knights are minor antagonists in DreamWorks' 14th full-length animated feature film Shrek the Third, the third installment of the Shrek film series.
History[]
The Black Knights are among the many villains at the Poison Apple who are recruited by Prince Charming to assist him in taking over Far Far Away. During the pillaging of the kingdom, one of the knights scares away some customers at a coffee shop and proceeds to drink their tea.
During the play that Charming set up, two Black Knights work as ushers. One tells a girl not to bring food or beverages in the theater, after which the other impales her bag of popcorn with his ax.
Toward the end of the film, some Black Knights surround Gingy while several others attempt to kill Shrek. After hearing Artie's speech, the Black Knights drop their weapons and redeem themselves, along with the rest of the fairytale villains.
