Black Ops are antagonists of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
They are a group of elite rogue enforcers and mercenaries commanded by Albert De Vela who are tasked to hunt down Cardo Dalisay who were initially working with Arturo Padua, and later to Lily Anne Cortez. They are also a secret government operatives who are tasked to exterminate high profile criminals in the Philippines. Later on, the organization was disbanded by Pres. Oscar Hidalgo for their corruption, while some members continued to work in the legitimate government with Task Force Agila.
Background[]
They are a band of elite police officers commanded by Albert De Vela who targets high profile criminals in the country. As Cardo Dalisay and Task Force Agila are declared as terrorists in the despotic rule of Lily Anne Cortez and Sec. Padua, the latter tasked them to manhunt Cardo Dalisay. They first encountered Task Force Agila after Lito Valmoria tipped them in his firing range causing an intense shootout and the death of Alyana Dalisay. They soon confirmed that Cardo have survived, and constantly clashed with Task Force Agila but constantly fail to capture them causing Sec. Padua’s disappointment to their organization.
Desperate to gain Sec. Padua’s trust, they eliminated Jacob Serrano and his men but this made Sec. Padua disgust them for exterminating a criminal connected to Renato Hipolito. One day, they attempted to arrest Lito Valmoria but the latter bribed them to join forces with Lily Anne Cortez and stop their connection with Sec. Padua. As authorities confirmed Task Force Agila is hiding in Ilocos, they failed to capture Task Force Agila again leaving them suspended by Sec. Padua and Sec. Hipolito. They were soon reinstated by Lily Anne Cortez continued serving their loyalty to her and worked on-and-off with Lito Valmoria. One day, as Task Force Agila attempted to take down Lily, Renato, and Arturo but failed after Lito shoots Cardo allowing them to capture the latter. The day that Lito arrives in a hospital where Cardo is confined, they had a shootout between Lito’s henchmen in the hospital thanks to Lito who was adamant to his plan in killing Cardo. Later on, they were able to follow Cardo after Ramona and her group rescues Cardo after losing consciousness in their duel with Lito. Days later, they were able to face Cardo and Ramona once again causing them to have an intense shootout until Ramona’s group managed to attack them with bolo knives allowing them to retreat. Later on, they were involved in a shootout once again with Task Force Agila in attempt to save Armando Silang and his wife Lolita.
Upon Task Force Agila reunited with Pres. Oscar Hidalgo, and obtained his position back, he declares them as criminals and officially exterminate them from service for their involvement with Lily Anne Cortez. With their disbandment some worked as Lily’s mercenaries, and some continued working in the legitimate government moving to Task Force Agila.
Behaviors[]
A majority of them are portrayed as rogue, opportunistic, and corrupt enforcers who disregard their principles as a police officers to serve and protect by dangerously eliminating their enemies even a civilian will get involved. They are also involved in government corruption as they accept bribes and associates with corrupt officials for them to gain more power and influence in the government.
However, despite the majority of the members are played as rogue police officers, some of them remain dedicated following their principles such as Natalia Mante who questioned Albert for killing Alyana Dalisay during their shootout with Task Force Agila. Additionally, Victoria Cruz is one of the known honest police officers in the organization where she was seen attempting to call police internal affairs to stop the corruption of Albert de Vela and the other members of Black Ops.
Trivia[]
- Their uniforms’ design is similar to the uniforms of National Law Enforcement Agency (NLEA) in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
- In the scene where Lily Anne Cortez, Armando Silang, and Albert De Vela escapes from the authorities, there were still some members patrolling the areas despite Pres. Oscar Hidalgo declares them as criminals. However, this would possibly indicate that those members are honest law enforcers and remained loyal to the legitimate government.
- They are likely similar to Cemetery Wind of Transformers: Age of Extinction who were Black Ops enforcers tasked to eliminate high profile villains in the series but antagonized the heroes in the series as they had delusions that they were enemies in the society.
