Robert Plesko, also known as the Black Spectre, is one of the main antagonists of the Vol 9 of Moon Knight. He was a former friend of Marc Spector, before being revealed as a dangerous sociopath who enjoys witnessing evil, now taking the mantle of the Black Spectre to do evil deeds himself instead of being an outsider of it.
History[]
Robert Plesko, in his earlier days, would work with Marc Spector, as mercenaries. Later on, after the disband of their group and the death of Marc at the hands of Raoul Bushman, Plesko would decide to join Bushman's group, just to admire all the atrocities he will commit there.
Years later, Marc, now as Moon Knight, would get Plesko to work for him, in the Shadow Cabinet, working as a psychotherapist, so Marc can get detailed info about the psychological profile of his targets, while also going to therapy with Plesko to improve himself.
Later on, Marc, would get Robert to interview Zodiac in prison, who ends up noticing some of Plesko's true colors in their conversation. After that, Plesko, would decide to start his plan to become a full-on super villain, so he can, instead of only witnessing, causing atrocities and crimes. For that, he would break the minds of two unpopular supervillains and used them to kill the majority of the Shadow Cabinet, and to fake his own death.
After the previous events, he will take the mantle of Black Spectre, with this, he will ally himself with multiples supervillains, all in order to kill everyone in New York for his own twisted pleasure. For that, he got Sarnak to create a soundtrack, that besides causing pain, it would drive people to attack each other until killing, with that in mind, he sent Sarnak to test in in a nightclub, not knowing that Reese and company were there coincidentally. Later on Plesko, would recruit more supervillains that Moon Knight faced before, just to get him killed, after luring him to a trap. After his plan to kill Moon Knight failed, thanks to 8-Ball, he will use the soundtrack to get everyone from the prison that had Sarnak and Zodiac captive killed, freeing both of those supervillains, and other criminals, just to get to the final stage of his plan.
Black Spectre, then would attempt to use his soundtrack to get everyone in New York affected, while also letting Zodiac roam around as he likes, just to cause more chaos and pain. After tricking Moon Knight into fighting the second Black Spectre, he will attack Moon Knight when he was weakened, just to reveal his true identity, and leave him to die in the building. But something that he didn't plan, is that Moon Knight, would sacrifice himself to stop his plans, now, not knowing how his plan got to fail, he finds Zodiac waiting for him, who plans to torture and kill Plesko, for the killing of Moon Knight that he stole from Zodiac.
