Black Star is the leader of the Black Heart Gang, a criminal gang sponsored by Dakker, and the main antagonist of the second episode of Kaiketsu Zubat.
History[]
With support from Dakker, Black Star and his Black Heart Gang used intimidation and fear tactics to make a small wild west town called Cheyenne City forfeit all their land to his gang so he could use it to build a casino. The only people to not give in were a small saloon operated by an old man and his two granddaughters. In response, the Black Heart Gang tied up the old man and hung him from the entrance of the town as a way to intimidate anyone who would think of defying them. However, Ken Hayakawa arrived in the town as he was searching for the one responsible for murdering his best friend, Goro Asuka, and challenged the gang's tyranny over the town.
After Ken bested the Black Heart Gang's yojimbo Ryunosuke Kaze, Black Star murdered the old man and hired Ken on a second yojimbo, bringing Ken with him when he went personally to intimidate the family into signing over their land. Ken was only pretending in order to infiltrate the gang, but Black Star was aware of what he was doing and was planning luring him into a trap. Black Star and his goons then kidnapped the two sisters and hung the younger of the two down from a ledge, threatening to release her unless Ken surrendered to them. Ken attempted to save the little girl, but wound up captured by the gang and forced to watch as they prepared to kill her with a giant saw. However, Ken escaped his confinement and appeared as the mysterious hero Kaiketsu Zubat, saving the girl and defeating all of the Black Heart goons. Black Star summoned Kaze to deal with Zubat, but Zubat outmaneuvered the yojimbo and was able to slay him. He then chased down Black Star and captured him, leaving him incapacitated with his calling card behind for the police to find.
