Death by fire, the only thing you devils understand!
~ The Blast Shard Bomber after catching sight of Cole.

The Blast Shard Bomber is a minor antagonist in the 2011 video game inFamous 2, the second installment in the InFamous franchise. He is a member of Joseph Bertrand III's Militia, who created explosive devices using Blast Shards, and planted them across the city of New Marais.

Biography[]

At some point, the Blast Shard Bomber joined Bertrand's Militia, and their mission of killing all Conduits. Later, not too long after Cole MacGrath's arrival to New Marais, the Bomber learned how to use Blast Shards to create bombs, and began planting them across the city. Cole came across the first two bombs after attempting to interrogate Bertrand about the location of Dr. Sebastian Wolfe. While failing to defuse the first bomb, which killed a crowd of civilians, Cole was able to defuse the second one, and learned that they were made using Blast Shards. From there, more bombs would appear for Cole to (optionally) defuse.

Eventually, the Blast Shard Bomber came into contact with Zeke Dunbar, a double agent within the Militia, and agreed to give himself up. When Zeke told Cole about this, the latter claimed it was "such a bad idea," before agreeing to head to the meeting place in the Gas Works. When Cole arrived, a large Blast Shard bomb went off, knocking him on his feet. As he got back up, the Bomber began taunting Cole, before running off further in the Gas Works, causing the latter to give chase.

As Cole chased the Blast Shard Bomber, several bombs that the latter had placed across the Gas Works detonated in an attempt to kill Cole, causing further destruction. Eventually, Cole cornered the Bomber in a warehouse, only to find him surrounded by civilians, warning Cole that he would blow himself and his hostages up with the bomb strapped to his chest if he touched him. Cole had to choose between draining the bomb and restraining the Bomber, or shooting him, killing both the Bomber and his hostages. Regardless of Cole's decision, the Blast Shard Bomber was defeated, and the threats posed by his bombs was vanquished.
