The Bleacher Creatures are the main antagonists of the 2025 miniseries, Win or Lose, Pixar Animation Studios' first original animated series.
Composed by Brian Dyson, Rinna, and the mysterious mascot, Chicken-Kev, they are a local trio of delinquents of Peaks Valley, who get this name because of their habit of staying beneath the Bleachers during softball games. While usually keeping it to themselves and not going out of their way to bully others, they end up becoming part of the Pickle's stories when they try to use Rochelle and Ira to commit a heist.
They are voiced by Beck Nolan (Brian), Jaylin Fletcher (Chicken-Kev), and Jenn An (Rinna).
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about how they met and became known by Peaks Valley's population, but they've managed to gain a reputation for being troublemakers, as Taylor expresses her worry about Ira spending too much time alongside them to her boyfriend at the time, Yuwen. They are known to not wish to go the college, as Taylor states, and purposefully fluke their grades in order to not progress in school.
Win or Lose[]
Rinna is the first one to appear, before the first game shown in the series start, chronologically. She goes to the Snack Shack and tries to buy something while snatching a pack of chips behind her. Rochelle catches her in the act and nonchalantly tells her the price, including the concealed product. Rinna only frowns and pays it, "apologizing" and going back to her friends, who are seen waiting nearby.
The Bleacher Creatures, after the game, vandalized Frank Brown's car by throwing eggs on it. When Ira, little brother of Taylor, a member of the Pickles, saw them doing that over a turn, Brian offered him a chance to partake, throwing him an egg. Ira, aware of the wrongness of the situation, politely refuses, throwing the egg back to them, with it falling on Kev's foot. However, once Frank comes back, the trio hides. When Ira lies to Frank about it raining eggs on his car, leading to the teacher driving away frustrated, the Bleacher Creatures all congratulate Ira and laugh, making him feel like he finally has friends who pay attention to him.
Over the next few days, the Bleacher Creatures have a lot of fun with Ira, taking him to a skate park where they go around in supermarket carts, and annoying Frank at his house, making Ira truly like them. Besides that, they plan to steal all of the cash at the Snack Shack by stealing Rochelle's keys to the place. They do this by, aware of Rochelle's recent activity of helping people cheat at school in exchange for money, offer, through Brian's online profile, BadBoy2023, to buy her new cleats for 200 dollars, luring her into Chicken-Kev's cousin's house, where a big teenager party is happening.
Getting there early, they take Ira to the party, claiming he is "cool" to the other kids, making everybody cheer him on. They stay with him until Rinna says to Brian that Rochelle had gotten there, and both of them go into the house's garage, while Chicken-Kev stays out of the house, greeting Rochelle and making her know it is the correct house, before having her follow him to the garage. There, they corner her and reveal they aren't interested in buying her cleats, but on her keys instead, offering to give her the promised 200 dollars if she just gives them the key, and "no one gets hurt". Rochelle denies, but they insist, with Rinna saying it's no different than the blatant cheating Rochelle was doing while giving out "classes".
Rochelle congratulates their plan, asking who had the idea. Brian takes credit, though Rinna claims it wasn't his idea. Eventually, Ira opens the door, distracting them, allowing Rochelle to drop to the floor and roll, getting out of the garage. While Chicken-Kev opens the garage's gate and picks up his car to chase Rochelle, Brian freaks out at Ira, throwing his phone at the wall, nearly hitting him, and then ripping apart his cardboard telescope, leading to Ira running away and Brian ordering fruitlessly for him to stay, while Rinna said it was enough. Chicken-Kev, meanwhile, got very far in his chasing of Rochelle, which made her break her glasses and fall over a little mound, hurting herself, while Chicken-Kev picks up the keys she accidentally let fall, mocking her before going back to his car.
At the softball championship some minutes later, the Bleacher Creatures enact their plan of stealing the Snack Shack, with Rinna entering it with the keys while Chicken-Kev and Brian keep a lookout. When Ira tries to put an "I'm sorry" note alongside some of the stolen Swedish fish he had stolen alongside the Bleacher Creatures, Brian tries to distract him, since he knows Rinna is soon coming out of there, by offering to be friends again, saying he is sorry and trying to give him his fixed telescope. And while Ira does want to accept it, Rinna comes out through the main window, alongside the box of money. Though Brian says it is for charity, trying to play Ira's imagination with a "Robin Hood" type scenario, Ira just frowns and picks up the box, starting to run away.
The Bleacher Creatures pursue him, eventually managing to put Ira beneath Chicken-Kev's mask to dampen his screams, though he still manages to run away from them with the big mascot head over his body. They chase him through the field and bleachers until they corner him, take Chicken-Kev's mask away and grab the money box. However, before they can do anything else, Taylor, Ira's older sister, comes in and beats them with her softball bat, shown through Ira's imaginative filter of her being a space warrior. The Bleacher Creatures are last seen knocked out while Ira cheers and Taylor smiles at her brother.
It isn't known what happened to the Bleacher Creatures afterwards, whether they faced legal punishment for their actions or not.
Trivia[]
- Their motive to egg Frank's car isn't known, as most people had a grudge for Frank over the results of his umpire job, yet the Bleacher Creatures had very little reason to care about the game. It can be assumed they simply though it'd be fun. Another possible explanation would them disliking him due to them being trouble students who fail school on purpose, while Frank is a knowingly harsh teacher.
- It is revealed that it was because Frank had made Rinna cry in the eight grade.
