Blind the Thief is a major antagonist in the 1991 action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
He is a notorious, yet photosensitive thief who once terrorized Hyrule, only to go missing in the Dark World while searching for treasure. Years later, he has been transformed into a Demon and now serves Ganon, guarding one of the Seven Maidens on his behalf.
History[]
Past[]
Blind the Thief was the photosensitive leader of a gang of thieves in Hyrule's past. However, in his greed, Blind led his gang into the Dark World in an attempt to steal the Triforce, only for them to end up trapped. Over the time, the Dark World transformed Blind and his gang into demons, with Blind eventually taking over Thieves' Town and becoming a servant of Ganon.
A Link to the Past[]
Eventually, Link travels to the Dark World in search of the Seven Maidens to defeat Ganon. He breaks into Thieves' Town and finds the fourth Maiden locked up at the bottom of the dungeon. Link leads the Maiden back upstairs and into a room filled with light. Upon seeing the light, the Maiden yells that it’s too bright, and reveals "her" true form: Blind the Thief, disguised in an attempt to trick the hero. Link battles and defeats Blind, allowing him to rescue the real Maiden and set her free.
A Link to the Past and Four Swords[]
In the Game Boy Advance port of A Link to the Past, Blind can be found once again in the Palace of the Four Sword. This time, he disguises himself as Link's recently deceased uncle in an attempt to catch him by surprise. Upon revealing his true form, Blind battles Link and loses once again, allowing the hero to proceed further into the palace.

Trivia[]
- A boss in a similarly named Lorulean dungeon Thieves' Hideout in A Link Between Worlds known as Stalblind heavily resembles Blind the Thief and is said to be the Lorulean boss of thieves. However, any direct connection between the two is mostly speculative.
- If Link attempts to exit the dungeon or head up to the highest floor with the windows that the lights shine through whilst escorting the disguised Blind, "she" will beg Link not to go that way.
- The line uttered by Blind the Thief II as Link's Uncle is the original wording from the SNES version that included the line "Zelda is your...", the part which would be removed as part of the revision of his final words in the GBA remake. Additionally, it was also the direct translation of the same bit in the original Japanese text constructed as "You are... the princess's..."
