~ Blinky |
Blinky is the titular main protagonist of web short film BlinkyTM. Blinky was created to be a friendly robot, but unfortunately his programming forces him to fulfill any type of order.
His performance capture was made by Joe Childs, while he's voiced by Ruairi Robinson, who was also the director.
Biography[]
Blinky was bought as a Christmas gift for a boy named Alex Neville. Although at the beginning they have a good relationship, the constant disputes of Alex's parents caused him to let all of his frustrations out with Blinky. After Alex gives him contradictory commands and multiple killing orders (his parents, himself, their dog and everybody) during a rainstorm, Blinky temporarily breaks down. When he's rebooted, Blinky, unbeknownst to everyone, still remembers three commands: the countdown, the order to kill everybody and to clean and cook Alex for dinner if he makes another mess (this one was obviously ironic, but not for Blinky).
After killing Alex's dog, the Nevilles and the police officers at the end, Blinky's fate remains unknown, but he gets away with the murders, at least on-screen.
