Blizzard Wolfang is one of the eight Maverick bosses and a minor antagonist in Mega Man X6. He is encountered at the North Pole. Blizzard wields the Ice Burst for his weapon; X can get his hands on the weapon by defeating him, and with it can create ice blocks that explode into pieces. By charging it, he gets a dash attack that allows him to leave icicles in his wake. The icicles will fall within a second of their birth, and if he collides with a wall, X will end the dash prematurely.
History[]
Blizzard Wolfang was a Reploid created by the robotic scientist Gate who was the leader of an investigation team. He was stationed at the North Pole Area where the Mavericks were. The Mavericks killed all of his teammates, but failed to kill Wolfang himself, who took their lives instead out of revenge.
The Researchers who opposed Gate took advantage of the situation and tricked Alia into tossing him into the sea to make it look like a mistake. Gate then revived him and made him one of his Nightmare Investigators.
During the battle, Wolfang will stop and shoot out ice bursts at the player out of his mouth. Ice burst is Wolfang's main attack If playing as Zero, the blasts will be fired in a straight direction. If playing as X, the blasts will be shot at a upward angle.
If he as at half health, Wolfang will jump high and stick to the ceiling. He will also shout ice fragment before firing four ice bursts at the character. When defeated, he will say farewell.
Blizzard is immune to his own weapon, but Magma Blades and their projectiles can take out more of his health bar.
Personality[]
Wolfang was a Reploid who was upset at himself for his past failures. He thought that the only way to redeem himself by obeying Gate's new instructions. He apologizes to Zero before fighting him and feels that fighting him will make up for all of his past sins.
Physical Appearance[]
Blizzard Wolfang has the appearance of an ice-covered wolf. His armor is colored with light blues and icy whites, and he possesses the traits of a wolf such as a muzzle, tail, and claws. His head and claws were covered in jagged ice crystals, and he had Gate's signature rhombus-shaped gem in his forehead. In battle, Blizzard often moved on all-fours like an animal despite his sapient nature.
Trivia[]
- Blizzard Wolfang and Ground Scaravich are the only Maverick bosses in X6 who do not walk on two legs in battle. (Ground walks on his hands, while Blizzard runs on all four of his limbs.)
