Blizzeta, also known as the Twilit Ice Mass, and known as Yeta before being possessed, is a major antagonist in the 2006 adventure video game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
She is a woman known as Yeta, who has become obsessed with a Mirror Shard. Her obsession and exposure to its dark magic has caused her to become a monstrous mass of ice who seeks to attack Link.
Biography[]
Past[]
Yeta is the wife of Yeto. The couple reside in the Snowpeak Ruins. Prior to becoming obsessed with the Mirror Shard, Yeta would snowboard with her husband and care for the house. After finding the Mirror Shard, Yeta becomes enthralled with its beauty, and becomes sick.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[]
After Link meets Yeto, he arrives at the Snowpeak Ruins where he meets Yeta. Link tells Yeta he needs the mirror shard which is locked in her bedroom. Yeta tells Link where the key is, only for Link to find soup ingredients instead. Yeta does this three times, where link eventually finds the key as well as the ball and chain protected by Darkhammer.
Yeta walks Link into the bedroom and begins to gaze into the mirror. Yeta then refuses to let Link take the mirror, and becomes possessed as Blizzeta. A fight ensues, where Link must use the newly acquired ball and chain to break ice blocks summoned by Blizzeta, and then eventually hit Blizzeta. Doing so three times results in her defeat. After Blizzeta is defeated, Yeta returns to her normal state. Yeto arrives and embraces his wife, telling her that if she wants to see her beauty she need only look into his eyes.
Yeta is available after the game's completion as a challenger in snowboarding competitions.
Trivia[]
- "Blizzeta" is a portmanteau of "blizzard" and "Yeta".
- "Yeta" is likely the feminised version of "Yeti".
- Both Yeta and Yeto have a lot of Eastern European influence, such as the name variation based on their gender.
