| ~ Blondie Dread's most famous quote when Lowrey and Burnett break into his house. |
Blondie Dread is a major antagonist of the 2003 action comedy film Bad Boys II and a flashback antagonist of its 2024 sequel Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
He is a Haitian pirate and the leader of a group of Zoepounders who try to steal a shipment of money from Cuban crime lord Johnny Tapia.
He is portrayed by Kiko Ellsworth.
Biography[]
Blondie Dread is the leader of a gang of Haitian Zoepounders who plan on stealing a shipment of money being transferred by an undercover Syd Burnett between Johnny Tapia and the Russians, having one of his men keep track of Tapia's activities with a camera. Blondie first has his men ambush Syd's SUV that's carrying the money and murder an agent with Syd before attempting to kill Syd, with Syd killing some of them. Blondie then leads the rest of his men into a shootout on the road against Syd, Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey, resulting in a heavy car pileup.
The Haitians then start engaging in a heavy shootout with the DEA and Miami PD across the city, while endangering civillians and shooting up many cop cars. Lowrey kills many of Blondie's men, which allows Syd to escape. As such, Blondie and the rest of his men carjack a car-carrier and chase Syd down the MacArthur Causeway, pummeling through many civillian cars along the way while Mike and Marcus are right behind them. As such, Bondie starts having his men start chucking cars from the back of the carrier onto the road to get rid of them and other law enforcement, causing many cars to pile up or even explode. This allows the Haitians to escape, despite not getting their hands on the shipment.
As such, Mike and Marcus find Blondie's house and engage in a shootout with them, with Lowrey and Burnett killing the rest of Blondie's men before interrogating Blondie to tell them what he knows, with Lowrey threatening Blondie, with Blondie eventually revealing that one of his men managed surveillance. What happens to him afterwards is unclear, while it is presumed he is arrested.
Personality[]
Blondie Dread is an incredibly greedy and homicidal gangster. Even Lowrey refers to him and his men as "a bunch of pirates" who'll "steal anything". Evidently, he is proven right as Blondie Dread and his gang try to hijack a shipment of Tapia's money and kill Syd Burnett, killing another undercover agent in the process.
Blondie and his gang also cause an extensive car pileup in the process and start a massive shootout against the Miami PD and DEA while also indiscriminately firing among innocent civillians, showing Blondie's ruthlessness. He then carjacks a car-carrier and starts practically throwing cars on the road to kill Burnett and Lowrey as well as other law enforcement on the road, causing several more crashes and pileups.
Trivia[]
- The Haitians are mentioned in Bad Boys: Ride or Die when Captain Howard's video addresses the events of Bad Boys II.
