Blood-Queen Lana'thel is a minor villainess in the World of Warcraft MMORPG. She is a Darkfallen servant of the Lich King and is the leader of the San'layn, a sect of blood elves who were raised in undeath by the Lich King.

She is a boss encounter in Icecrown Citadel. Like many other boss fights, Blood-Queen Lana'thel has an attack that can cause you to damage nearby allies. The range for this fight is 6 yards, but doing a range check for 10 yards is a good way to be safe. There's plenty of room. Because of the need for distance, the best positioning for a caster is somewhere in the outer circle of the room. The battle against Blood-Queen Lana’thel comes in two phases: ground and aerial.

Little is known about Lana'thel's life before she became one of the Scourge, but it is known that she lived during the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas and served Kael'thas Sunstrider. She later came to wield the sword Quel'Delar.

Lana'thel was one of those who accompanied both Kael'thas and Illidan Stormrage to Northrend to combat Arthas Menethil. After Illidan and Kael'thas were defeated, their followers were left scattered, with Lana'thel being left in Northrend. She would be tracked down by Arthas and would face him in combat, and would ultimately fall. Through his blade, the Lich King chose Lana'thel to serve him in undeath as blood-queen of the San'layn, a group responsible for overseeing the Scourge's operations across Azeroth.

Blood-Queen Lana'thel eagerly carried out her new duties, but every time she looked at her blade, maddening anger would swell within her as she remembered her former mortal life. She could not afford such distractions, and with a scream that echoed throughout Icecrown, she shattered Quel'Delar and flung the fractured pieces as far as she could.
