My old man. When I was a lad, if I didn't finish a task right, he would dole out the punishment. And one day, he just locked me in a crate for 24 hours. And it was full starving rats.

~ Amanda Waller to John Economos, telling him how Bloodsport became assassin.
Bloodsport's Father, known also as Robert DuBois' Father, is a unseen and mentioned antagonist of the 2021 DC Extended Universe superhero black comedy-action film The Suicide Squad.

Biography[]
Bloodsport's Father, at some point in his life, became a mercenary and had son, Robert. From the moment his son was born, Robert's Father trained him to be a deadly mercenary, just like him, teaching him how to use firearms to kill people.
Because of his intolerance for failure, he devised various terrible punishments for his son if he failed to complete his task correctly, including locking young Robert in a crate for 24 hours with starving rats, which ultimately led to his trauma and fear of rats.
Thanks to his brutal trainings, Robert eventually became a professional assassin and mercenary known as Bloodsport. He even managed to send Superman to the ICU after shooting him with a kryptonite bullet. What became of his father afterward is unknown. When Bloodsport joined Task Force X and was sent on the Joutnheim mission, Bloodsport told Ratcatcher 2, his teammate, about his father, his merciless training, and the punishments he endured when he failed, particularly the one involving hungry rats.
Ultimately, by the end of the Joutnheim mission, Bloodsport had proven to himself that he wasn't as much of a monster as his father and had managed to overcome his rat phobia by befriending Ratcatcher 2 and her pet rat, Sebastian.
