Bloody Rose, real name Susan Langsberry, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Wes) of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
Mrs. Langsberry became the serial Killer known as Bloody Rose to avenge the death of her son Chip, which was killed by Archie Waters after being accused of rape by Tabby Haworthe and Imogen Adams. With Wes' help, Susan began stalking the "Liars", posing as "Rose Waters"; the mentally ill mother of Archie and Angela Waters and the former lover of Marshall Clanton. She wears a bloody mask to commit her murders in Millwood. On the internet, Bloody Rose became a "Slender Man/A"-like urban legend.
Bloody Rose/Mrs. Langsberry was portrayed by Carey Van Driest. The real Rose Waters was portrayed by Susan Barnes Walker in the present Jeanette Bonner in 1999, and by Abby Satty as a teen.

Mrs. Langsberry with Wes
Susan's son Chip was killed by Archie Waters after he was accused of sexual assault by Tabby and Imogen. After Chip's death, Mrs. Langsberry was devastated. When Wes, (Chip's former boss) took his stuff over to her, he consoled her and they eventually decided to take revenge on the "Liars" for Chip's death. With Wes' help, which was a horror-obsessed filmmaker, Susan adopts the persona of the stalker and serial killer known as "Bloody Rose", (based on Archie's mom Rose Waters) and orchestrates a slasher-style campaign targeting the "Liars"; Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa, as retribution for their role in Chip's downfall, terrorizing the girls with horror-themed tests and brutal murders.
On May 30, 2023, Bloody Rose stabbed Nick Brody and Sabrina Hooper to death at a remote cabin in the woods. On June 5, 2023, she killed Sandy Quinn. On June 16, 2023, she stabbed Pastor Malachi through the eye, killing him as part of her religious-themed murders. On June 20, 2023, she cut off the face of the real Rose Waters, killing her. Then, Rose's face was possibly used to craft the Bloody Rose mask. In "Chapter Eighteen: Final Exam", Susan Langsberry was finally unmasked as Bloody Rose, with her assault revealed to be part of a broader sadistic performance facilitated by Wes and his "proxies". She was then arrested along with her accomplices, with the conspiracy involving her and Wes being exposed.

The real Rose Waters in 1999
During the 1980s, Rose Waters meet Marshall Clanton in high school. They began a relationship and eventually, she became pregnant. However, Marshall's parents did not support their relationship, and since the Waters family needed money, the Clantons paid them to move to another city with the children and never return. Rose's children, Archie and Angela, were born in 12 March, 1983. In the mid-90s, Rose returned to Millwood with her children, while Marshall became vice principal at the High School.
Rose also had schizophrenia and was a religious fanatic. Due to Archie's facial deformity, she did not allow him to leave the house or study. So she hid his existence from Marshall and made Archie sleep in a dog cage. However, Rose wanted Angela to attend Millwood High to get a decent education. Marshall agreed, but didn't want anyone to know she was his daughter.
In December 31, 1999, her daughter Angela committed suicide after she was raped by Tommy Beasley and bullied by the "Little Liars"; Davie Adams, Corey Bryant, Marjorie Olivar, Sidney Haworthe, and Elodie Honrada. Rose then had a freak out and attacked these girls at school, but she was imprisoned in Radley Sanitarium, until the asylum was shut down. Some of the patients were sent to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy over in Riverdale, and others, like Rose, were released, bussed out of town.
