???, better known as Blue Baby and Hush in his second form, is a major antagonist in The Binding of Isaac indie roguelike series, serving as the main antagonist of Endings 14 and 17.
Representing the demise of Isaac by suffocating in his toy chest, he is fought in the Chest and ??? stages.
Biography[]
Blue Baby is first fought as the boss of the Chest stage, which is accessible by obtaining the Polaroid and entering the chest after defeating the boss Isaac in Cathedral. During fight, he attacks Isaac with firing various projectiles and spawning flies. In Phase 2, he spawns two eternal flies that protect him, and gains angelic wings in Phase 3 that help him move and teleport around. Defeating him for the first time unlocks Ending 14.
Blue Baby is also fought in the titular stage called ???, which is accessible by defeating Mom's Heart/It Lives in thirty minutes. In said stage, Blue Baby (with a bit different appearance) attacks Isaac with his identical powers in Chest but half of his original health. Upon the defeat, he transforms into his true form called Hush, which serves as the delirious form of the Blue Baby. Hush attacks Isaac with his various powers, such as rapid projectiles, spawning monsters and attacking with laser beams. Upon Hush's defeat, Ending 17 will be unlocked and Isaac gains direct access to enter the Void, where Delirium resides.
