Boagrius is a minor anti-villainous antagonist of 2004 film Troy. He was a gigantic and brutish Greek warrior, serving as the champion and top warrior of the Thessaly King Triopas. While not outrightly villainous, Boagrius still tried to kill Achilles, the protagonist and supported the tyrannical politics of his master during the war.

He was portrayed by Nathan Jones, who also played Rictus Erectus in Mad Max: Fury Road, Petyr in The Condemned and Reiko in Mortal Kombat.

Biography[]

In the opening of the movie, Agamemnon negotiated with Triopas, when the kings waged a war against each other. Agamemnon offered his rival to spare the lives of their warriors by using the duel between their strongest warriors. Agamemnon chooses Achilles while Triopas selects Boagrius.

The brutish Thessalian warrior tried to antagonize his opponent by chanting with the crowd, but to no avail. Achilles started to walk forward his opponent, while Boagrius throws his two spears at the protagonist. Achilles easily blocked the first spear with his shield and dodged the other weapon, while running towards Boagrius. When close enough to the gargantuan warrior, Achilles leaped past the larger warrior's defenses faster than Boagrius was able to react, and stabbed the giant downward through his shoulder into his heart, killing the Thessalian champion.
