~ The final 12th Bob's note |
Bob the Janitor or just Bob is a major character in the South African Science Fiction Simulation video game Viscera Cleanup Detail.
Bob is a rouge employee of Aerospace Sanitation Inc. who lived in the office before the Janitor. Bob is portrayed as insane through much of his behavior, including murdering his colleagues and collecting human remains.
Personality[]
Bob is portrayed as a psychotic person with severe anger issues. Bob was shown to be rather joyful about collecting human remains that he kept in his "trophy room", and going as far as murdering his colleague, Dave after he discovered Bob's collection and threated to report him. It also heavily implied that he didn't like most of his colleagues, except for Dave a "few more" since he was genuinely angry of Dave's threats. Bob also have substance abuse problem, as he is addicted to a drug called Nephliprine[1], which seemingly might be the reason for his violent and unstable behavior.
In the end of his life, Bob confessed his crimes and was remorseful about Dave's death, even asking a proper burial for him. At the very dawn Bob reveled his plan of exposing the company's crimes. After interacting with the artifact, it suggest that he wasn't his original self, since that same artifact cause miners to go insane and kill each other. However, it doesn't explain his earlier violent behavior.
Appearance[]
Bob is seemingly a black man with greenish skin and orange eyes with a full black beard, wearing a regular Janitor's outfit, just with unique colors.
Biography[]
Bob states that he gave 36 years to the Company, which implies that he started working in 2148. Throughout the years, Bob obediently work without questioning on the company, according to the note, he participate in covering up 471 ungodly disasters and an incident on Aegis VII. However, Bob was smart enough to keep notes on Aerospace's illegal activities.
It's unknow where was or what did Bob do exactly, except for gathering evidence, but at some point he started to lose his mind and collect humans remains as "trophies" in his "trophy room" hidden in his Office and also develop a dislike for most of his co-workers. Somewhere at that time he developed a substance problem, particularly a drug named "Spice".
One day however, his colleague, Dave, found Bob's collection and threated to report him, which resulted in Bob killing him, Bob attempted to hide his body by dismembering it, but Bob quickly realized that it's meaningless and flow the scene. The Company of course found his disturbing collection and Dave's body, and sent people to stop him. Bob ran through different facilities, that are, in a coincidence, are the same once where happened disasters, although, it's unknown whatever he had any connections with it or it's just a coincidence. At some point Bob tried to get over his drug withdrawal symptoms by using Nephliprine, but it was taken away, leaving Bob deal with his withdrawal alone. Eventually, Bob escaped the company's cleaners, but was stuck in a facility where a strange artifact caused people to go mad. The same fate suffered Bob, the artifact broke an already unstable mind of Bob to even more violence. Just before his demise, Bob expressed his true feelings in a note, stating that he regrets working on the company and whishing Dave will have a proper burial, ultimately achieving redemption.
