Bob Annderson was a member of the New York City FBI branch and mole for the Criminal organization led by Jimmy Figgis as well as the former friend of NYPD Captain Raymond Holt. After tracking down a Mexican cartel for 14 years, Bob received a letter of commendation with his name misspelled. This caused him to betray the FBI.

Biography[]

In Bureau, Bob teams up with Captain Raymond Holt and his team to find out who the mole in the FBI is. Holt knows him from his past and vouches for Annderson to his team. Bob urges the team to break into the New York City FBI branch to retrieve some files needed (Captain Holt agreed to go off-book because if the FBI did have a mole, then the mole would know that Annderson was the one who requested for the certain files and would try to destroy them). Bob helps them plan the heist and gets them to see the blueprints. Together they plan the heist although it starts to go wrong when an agent notices something is up. However Bob saves them and takes the file for them which allows them to escape and catch the mole, who is Agent Ryan Whealon. When Holt tries to arrest Agent Whealon, they find he had already been beaten and left for dead. The team takes him to a hospital and Agent Whealon is expected to make a full recovery. Bob and Holt stand guard until Holt decides to leave and buy something. When Holt returns, he finds that Bob has murdered Whealon by suffocating him with a pillow. Having been exposed, he tells Holt that he'll have to kill him now and holds him at gunpoint.

In Greg and Larry, Bob explains to Holt that after tracking down a Mexican cartel for 14 years, the FBI gave Bob a letter of commendation with his last name spelled as "Anderson" rather than "Annderson". Believing that the FBI treats him with disrespect, Annderson decided to betray them by joining Jimmy Figgis' criminal organization. Agent Whealon wasn't the only mole in the Bureau, but Annderson as well. Annderson assassinated Whealon out of fear that he would talk. Agent Annderson takes Holt to the helipad in the hospital with plans to kill him and make it look like a bird watching accident, which Holt comments is brilliant because there was a rare bird and he had binoculars on him. Holt anticipates this and uses the chocolate that Jake Peralta, the immature detective of the NYPD, gave him to leave traces of it on the letter 'H' in the hospital to warn the team. Terry Jeffords, a detective sergeant in the NYPD, deduces this and tackles Annderson. However, Agent Annderson arrogantly informs them that Figgis' men are already on their way and the group decide to smuggle Bob out. Holt and his secretary Gina smuggle Agent Annderson out as a delusional individual who believes himself to be an FBI agent, despite his protests. The guard at the hospital almost believes Annderson until Gina, who was also posing a delusional individual, started behaving delusionally prompting the guard to disbelieve Annderson. At Rosa's apartment, Holt and his team try to get Annderson to talk by having Jake annoy him but to no avail. Jake then concocts another plan where he and the group pretend that Figgis' men have arrived to try to kill Annderson believing that Annderson was going to betray the organization. The team takes Annderson to the panic room. Holt convinces Annderson to reveal that he betrayed the FBI because he has spent his entire career unappreciated and underpaid, persuading him to search for recognition with the mob. Jake and Rosa collect the file and they now have enough evidence to shut down a portion of Figgis' operation. As the NYPD are celebrating their victory, Figgis calls Jake vowing to kill him and Holt in revenge for dismantling a small portion of his operations. Jake informs Holt of this, and Holt has the United States Marshal Service take them into witness protection.

Personality[]

As noted by Detective Jake Peralta, Agent Annderson is very similar to Peralta's superior Captain Raymond Holt as Holt and Annderson appear to both be very stoic and stern and have similar interests to talk about (such as grains) that others would find boring. Holt considers Annderson to be fun while Holt's subordinates thought of Annderson as serious and stern. Initially, Agent Annderson seemed to be an honorable man like Holt, a man willing to put criminals in prison even if it meant bending the rules to accomplish the task.

However, unlike Holt, Annderson was willing to work for a criminal organization although this was caused by his lack of appreciation from the FBI. Because of the way that the FBI treated him, Annderson was willing to murder Holt and frame him it as an accident as well as murdering another corrupt agent to save himself from prosecution. Annderson enjoyed betraying the FBI to Crime boss Jimmy Figgis as Figgis would give Annderson a fortune and make him travel the world. According to Annderson, Figgis made him into a millionaire by giving him a total net worth of $14 billion dollars for betraying his country.
