Bobby is a minor antagonist in the 2007 semi-autobiographical novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. He is a friend of Eugene, whom he drunkenly shot and killed.
Biography[]
Bobby was a good friend of Eugene, the best friend of the protagonist Arnold "Junior" Spirit Jr.'s father. A few days after Valentine's Day, Eugene and Bobby got into a fight over the last drink in a bottle of wine. In the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Spokane, Bobby shot Eugene in the face, killing him, and was too drunk to remember what he had done. When he finally realized what he did, he called Eugene's name over and over. Bobby was arrested, and a few weeks later, he committed suicide in jail by hanging himself with a bedsheet.
