Background[]
Robert Baccalieri was born in or sometime around 1932 in Northern New Jersey to two unnamed and unmentioned parents. When he was young, Bobby was well-known as an extremely homicidal and respected gangster, which gained the attention of Corrado "Junior" Soprano, an associate of the DiMeo Crime Family and during the 1960s and 1970s, Bobby became a legendary hitman and contract killer in the criminal underworld, being feared by anyone who crossed him, Not to mention that in 1964, Bobby had a son named Bobby Jr. (also nicknamed Bobby Bacala), who he raised like a good father, taking him hunting and having great memories with him, which Bobby Jr. talks highly about in later seasons. Bobby was also reportedly a heavy smoker, and in 1992, Bobby retired from the crime life and moved to Miami.
Season 3[]
In the episode "Another Toothpick", Tony Soprano and his family are attending the funeral of his wife, Carmela's uncle, Febby Viola, who died of cancer. Bobby just so happens to be one of the attendees, with Tony approaching him and Bobby Jr., with him noticing Bobby's severe cough which developed from the smoking habit he had when he was younger. After the service, Tony approaches Bobby, and asks him what he is doing in New Jersey, with Bobby explaining that he needs to see his doctor and that he also wishes to see his grandchildren, Bobby III and Sophia. After happily greeting Bobby, Tony quickly changes his tone and explains that he know wishes Bobby to murder Salvatore "Mustang Sally" Intile, Bobby's godson who put Bryan Spatafore, the brother of made man Vito Spatafore in the hospital after beating him in the head with a golf club. Despite being his godfather, Bobby agrees to do the job after hearing about Sally's other brash and impulsive behaviors, and also the fact that the only reason he baptized him was to do it as a favor for his father. After the two compliment each other and joke around, Bobby and Tony say their goodbyes. While apparently suffering from lung cancer, Bobby expresses his dedication and devotion to the family and arrives at Sally's house and starts to strike up a conversation with him. Then, after a brief struggle when Bobby fails to murder Sally with one bullet, Bobby finally murders Sally with a shot to the head, before realizing that Sally's friend, Carlos is still in the house. After Carlos begs for his life, Bobby shoots him dead through a chair he was using as cover to which Bobby then leaves. After murdering them, Bobby found a pack of cigarettes and started to smoke them. While driving away from the house, Bobby starts to choke on his own blood, with him also losing his inhaler after it falls to the bottom of the car's interior. Eventually, Bobby crashes his car and dies.
