Bobby Ray is one of the two main antagonists in the 2021 thriller film Till Death. He is a petty burglar who was sent to prison for 10 years for stabbing photographer Emma in her home. He returns to seek revenge on her, hired by her own husband Mark as part of an elaborate and sinister plot.
He was portrayed by Callan Mulvey, who also played Jack Rollins in the MCU and Anatoli Knyazev in the DCEU as well as Milan in Power.
Biography[]
10 years ago, Bobby Ray broke into Emma's home as part of a burglary, however, she intercepted him and as she tried to escape, he lunged his knife into her back and left her for dead but not before she managed to severely scar his face by digging her keys into him. He was later captured, arrested and sentenced to prison in part by the assistant DA Mark Davenport who later became Emma's husband.
In present time, Bobby is released on parole and becomes part of Mark's plan to torture and kill his own wife due to revenge for an affair she has had behind his back - the plan involves Mark handcuffing himself to Emma then committing suicide and leaving her trapped in the house for Bobby and his brother Jimmy to then kill her later in the day. He is happy to do it because he wants revenge for Emma putting him in jail. Bobby agrees in exchange for a collection of jewels hidden in a secure safe in the Davenport's lake house, where Emma is currently trapped.
Bobby arrives with Jimmy to the Lakehouse and kill Emma's lover, who has gone there to save her. The brothers search the house for Emma who manages to successfully evade them for a long time and also free herself from her husbands corpse. Emma even manages to trick Bobby and knock him temporarily but as she goes to make her escape he intercepts her and takes her to the safe.
He threatens her if she doesn't give up the code. She eventually gives in but inside the safe is a note which suggests the jewels are kept inside a secure necklace Mark made Emma wear around her neck, one which does not open conventionally. Bobby wants to cut the necklace off of Emma's body and kill her but Jimmy thinks they've gone way too far and the two brothers get into a fight which results in Jimmy accidentally being killed.
Bobby is angered by this and goes to kill Emma but she manages to overpower him and handcuff him to Mark's corpse while she runs out of the house. Bobby follows closely behind and head out into the frozen, icy lake. The pair fight out in the ice which ends in them falling into the cold depths below. Emma stabs Bobby in the eye and lets him sink into the iced water alongside her husband, killing him.
