Behold The Mini-Golf Course of Doom. Everyone plays. The winner goes free, leaving the losers behind, to stay in my snow globe ... FOREVER!!!
~ Bogey Man.

The Bogey Man is a villain from the Teletoon original series Sidekick. The Bogey Man is a former professional mini-golf player, who embarrassingly lost a Splittsporo tournament by one point, turning him into a villain who gets revenge on the world by shrinking people down and them inside his mini-golf slowglobe. He first appeared in "The Bogey Man".

Biography[]

In "The Bogey Man", Trevor bought a free game park pass from The Bogey Man in the dark alley on the night of a full moon and didn't seem to find anything suspicious about it. He took Eric, Kitty, and Vana down to the game park. There, they were greeted by The Bogey Man, who came out of a giant golf ball with a skull-shaped door on it. He used a deadly remote to make thunder clap as he dramatically introduced himself and laughed maniacally. However, none of the sidekicks knew who he was. The Bogey Man was irritated with the fact that he was so forgotten. He explained that he used to be a professional mini-golf champion, until he missed the final shot of the Splittsboro tournament and lost by one point, leading to him being humiliated and mocked by everyone. Because of this, The Bogey Man vowed revenge on the world. This still didn't ring the bell and the sidekicks, much to his further exasperation.

The Bogey Man then zapped them all with his remote, shrinking them all down to size and then had them all trapped inside of a little snow globe he had with a mini-mini-golf course inside of it called "The Mini-Golf Course of Doom". The Bogey Man explained the rules, saying that the four of them would compete against each other in this game and the winner would be set free, while the others would be trapped in his snow globe forever. Kitty assured The Bogey Man that there was no way he'd separate them, since they were all a team. However, Eric and Vana very quickly disproved this, when they were at each other's throats, ready to beat each other at this game. The two went on with their competition, not even caring about how they'd be trapping each other, along with the rest of their friends in the mini-golf course forever.

Eric and Vana would compete against each other in all the challenges until they were tied neck and neck at the final hole, which was protected by a swinging pencil pendulum, operated by The Bogey Man. The Bogey Man knocked Kitty and Trevor into the pond and Eric realized he needed to stop worrying so much about winning and save his friends. Vana wasn't convinced until The Bogey Man shattered the pencil all over Eric. The Bogey Man left to go get a giant banana to torture them with. While he was gone, Eric came up with a plan for them all to escape. When The Bogey Man came back, he had a carrot instead of a banana since his roommate ate his last banana.

Eric convinced The Bogey Man to shrink himself down into the snow globe so that he could beat them all at his own game, promising that if he won, he could keep all four of them trapped in there forever, while he won freedom and access to the Maxum Mansion. The Bogey Man accepted this challenge and went down into the grame, bragging about how he created and owned this course, so this would be an easy win for him. While The Bogey Man was distracted with the game, as well as Eric and Vana's meaningless arguing, Kitty and Trevor snuck out of the snow globe and used The Bogey Man's remote control to zap him with electricity and send him flying into a windmill. They also got Eric and Vana out of the snow globe, and grew everyone back to their normal size again, except for The Bogey Man, who was left trapped in his own prison forever.

In "Squawk", The Bogey Man was one of the candidates for villains that could be emulated, using AI technology. Eric rejected using him as an avatar because he had a "Golf Face".

In "Eric-o and Mandy-et", The Bogey Man appeared among the villains of the evil side of town, stampeding to split up Eric and Mandy, refusing to let a hero and villain date.

In "OppoXOX", The Bogey Man made a return cameo, as one of the villains that was running rampant in lieu of the redemption of Master XOX. The Bogey Man was robbing a bank, holding a man at golfclub-point.

Trivia[]

  • He is a parody on The Boogeyman.
  • He is also modeled to look like The Grim Reaper.
  • His appearances in "Eric-o and Mandy-et" and "OppoXOX" suggests that he eventually got out of his snow globe.
