The Lernaean Bone Hydra is a minor antagonist in the 2020 rouge-like hack and slash Hades; it is the skeletal guardian of Asphodel after its battle with Heracles as the second of his 12 labors.
Biography[]
The Lernaean Hydra was a monstrous dragon-like monster residing in Lake Lernea. As part of his 12 labors, the hero Heracles's second task was to kill the beast. With the help of his nephew, Heracles killed the Hydra by cutting its heads off and cauterizing the neck stumps.
Hades[]
Somehow, instead of being sent to Tartarus, the Hydra wound up in Asphodel. Upon reaching the edge of Asphodel, Price Zagreus fought the beast on his quest to find his mother Persephone. During the fight the Bone Hydra summons four extra heads after each third of his health bar. After reuniting with his Mother, Zagreus decided to christen the Hydra as Lernie.
Trivia[]
- After being dubbed Lernie, the Hydra's health bar changes from Lernaean Bone Hydra to Lernie the Bone Hydra.
- Lernie is the only boss in Hades not to have lines.
