Boogaloo is the main antagonist of the 2013 mobile game Cordy 2.
He is the leader of the Boogie Bots, (the main enemies of the game) and is a large robot with an orange eye who flies around in a UFO-like ship. Like the Boogie Bots, he can defeated by stomping on the blue pad on the top of his head, in which Cordy does so in his third and final fight.
His vocal effects were provided by Alan Hopkins.
Biography[]
Boogaloo is first shown in Level 1-1, where he is knocked down by Cordy and Volt's ship once they come crashing down into Carnival City. When Cordy reaches a halfway point in the level, Boogaloo returns to tell Cordy that he will steal all the Zap Drops to become the most powerful being in the universe. He then flies away to spawn various Boogie Bots throughout the level and all of Carnival City, which they can be defeated by stomping on their heads.
He appears once again in Level 1-10, his first boss, where he will try and spawn numerous Boogie Bots to kill Cordy with them. The player can defeat them by stomping on their heads. When Boogaloo comes forward, the player can jump onto his force field to stun him, and this must be done 3 times. Once Boogaloo is defeated, he drops Gears and flies over to the next world, Harmony Harbor.
In Level 2-10 (his second boss), he is shown at the beginning of the level, where Master Boop tells Cordy that he will join him in stopping Boogaloo, but the latter blasts the elderly robot to a wall, injuring him to Cordy’s anger as he flies away. For his boss fight, Boogaloo will generate three rows of blocks around his force field, and the player must destroy all three rows of blocks using Smashbot.
Boogaloo also appears in the first bonus level in Sky Factory, where he had created an evil clone of Cordy called the Boogie Bully, which tries to chase him until he reaches the Power Station.
In Level 3-4, Boogaloo tries using a Boogie Blaster in an attempt to knock Cordy down while he is on CopterBot.
In Level 3-6, Boogaloo traps Cordy at the end of the level and sends him falling so that he could kill him with the Boogie Bombs at the bottom. Volt saves him just in time, allowing the two to fly all the way back up and complete the level to Boogaloo’s anger.
Boogaloo reappears in Level 3-10 as the final boss, where the player must attack him in three different ways. For the first hit, the player must jump on his force field to stun him, making it turn red. For the second hit, the player must launch a Boogie Bomb at Boogaloo to stun him. He then flies up to the top, and the player must use Volt to fly up to where Boogaloo is to stomp him on the head while he drops numerous red Boogie Bombs, making him fall.
In the game’s ending, he tells Cordy that he will find another way to get the Zap Drops before flying away. A spaceship then appears out of nowhere, and a robot who is revealed to be Cordy’s future son comes out of it, informing Cordy and his friends that Boogaloo has found out a way to time travel, so they go inside the spaceship and travel to the future to stop Boogaloo, leaving the game (as well as the entire series) on a cliffhanger.
Personality[]
Boogaloo is shown to be power hungry, wanting to take over the universe by stealing all the Zap Drops from each world. He is also shown to be sadistic, such as when he blasted Master Boop and showed no remorse for it as he laughed. He is also not shown to care for anyone, not even his own minions, as whenever Cordy would defeat them he would display no reaction, meaning he just uses them as tools to defeat Cordy.
