The Boogeyman is the main antagonist of The Real Ghostbusters of the same name. He is a legendary creature who would scare children around the world and he has a special connection to the Ghostbusters and is one of their most encountered enemies.
He is voiced by Frank Welker who also voiced Ice Cream Man in Who’s Hungry?, Thumper in Bug’s Life, Stripe in Gremlins, and The Dogs in Chicken Run and William Jones in Velma.
Biography[]
It’s reveled that he used to scare Egon when he was a little kid and he was the reason Egon went into investigating Ghost and other supernatural stuff.
He first appeared in the episodes the Boogeyman Cometh Where he scares 2 children the Carter Kids which made them go to get the ghostbusters to help them get rid of him he shows up in the closet in a portal where he comes out and he recognizes Egon and the Ghostbusters blasted him but he was not a ghost and they couldn’t trap him in the ghost trap and tried to force him to get back in the closet and he uses his roar on them and flees back in the closet. Later he appears again and tries to scare the Carter Kids again only to be blasted by Winston Using the proton packs, the Ghostbusters seal Boogeyman into his dimension.
Boogeyman would return later in the episode The Boogeyman Returns. Here, Egon was having trouble sleeping having almost fallen to his death from a job beforehand. While trying to calm down, Egon becomes so frightened by a scary movie, it strengthens the Boogeyman, allowing him into the real world again. As Boogeyman torments kids again, Egon is able to create a special adaptor for the Proton wands, allowing Boogeyman to be captured properly in a Ghost Trap.
Now Comics[]
The Boogieman appears in the Comics where it was revealed he escaped after Samhain's previous escape plan from a past issue. He kidnaps a young boy named Tommy in hopes of luring out Egon to defeat him for good.
