The Boogeyman, also known as Boogeyman, is a retired wrestler in the WWE. Like other wrestlers, he has been a protagonist and a antagonist in the past, though most of the time he's an anti-hero.

Biography[]

The Boogeyman appeared on Tough Enough on October 15, 2004, he attended the two day event where he was one of the eight finalists chosen. After surviving the first day he admitted he was 40 years old that was five years off the cut off point. As a result, he was cut from the competition.

On July 11, 2005, Raw began to promote the debut of The Boogeyman. After a few weeks, they were moved to Smackdown but was delayed due to The Boogeyman hyperextended his knees and needed time to recover. He made his debut on October 14, 2005 on Smackdown, by doing a show called "The Boogeyman" but the show was cancelled so The Boogeyman was brought to Smackdown to wrestle. The Boogeyman proceeds to recite a modified version of the chant One, two Freddy's coming for you from the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street before smashing his alarm clock on his head. For the next few weeks, The Boogeyman started to appear in unexpected places backstage (closets, vans, etc). reciting different nursery rhymes and holding his alarm clock before screaming his catchphrase "I'm The Boogeyman and I'm comin' to get'cha!" before hitting his own head with his alarm clock and laughing maniacally.

At Survivor Series, The Boogeyman helped Theodore Long defeat Eric Bischoff. The Boogeyman made his official in-ring debut on the December 2nd episode of Smackdown, defeating Simon Dean. During the match, he took a handful of live worms from his pocket and stuffed them into his mouth. Over the next few weeks, Boogeyman's opponents were destroyed in the ring left with worms in their mouths or spit on their faces. The Boogeyman's official pay-per-view debut was at Armageddon where he confronted Vito and Nunzio who were dressed as Santa Claus and a elf.

Boogeyman's first feud occurred with JBL and Jillian Hall, it began when he stalked the duo through the number of shows. During the January 6th episode of Smackdown, he caught Jillian Hall and shoved worms down the back of her skirt. On the January 13th episode of Smackdown, during Piper's Pit. The Boogeyman sniffed a growth on Jillian's face, but then he licked it, bit it off and ate it. The Boogeyman faced JBL at the Royal Rumble only winning in under two minutes.

After defeating The Dicks in a handicap match on the February 24th episode of Smackdown, he dumped a bucket of worms on the announce table, scaring Booker T and Sharmell. The Boogeyman began to stalk Booker T and Sharmell over the next few weeks. He faced Booker T at Saturday Night's Main Event, but the match was canceled due to Booker T faking a knee injury to escape. The feud ended at Wrestlemania 22, with The Boogeyman defeating Booker T and Sharmell in a handicap match. During the match, The Boogeyman kisses Sharmell with a mouthful of worms. But the match had to be cut short because of a biceps tear at a house show.

As SummerSlam approached, The Boogeyman began appearing in tv spots to promote the event. They also began airing his return to Smackdown. On September 20th, WWE reported that The Boogeyman has been released from the company but re-signed. He appeared on the October 27th episode of Smackdown, attacking and spitting worms into the face of The Miz and Kristal Marshall. During the feud he terrorized and stalked his opponents, and eventually ended The Miz's streak at Armageddon.

The Boogeyman began to feud with Finlay, who ended The Boogeyman's streak when Hornswoggle interfered. On the February 2nd episode of Smackdown during a match against Chris Benoit for the United States Championship, He abducted Hornswoggle, distracting Finlay and giving Benoit a chance to win the match. On the February 16th episode of Smackdown, The Boogeyman came with a little person called Little Boogeyman whos purpose was to counteract Hornswoggle, who was proving a problem in one-on-one matches with Finlay. The Boogeyman and Little Boogeyman lost to Finlay and Hornswoggle in a mixed tag team match at No Way Out. The team lost a following match on Smackdown.

The Boogeyman ended his tenure on Smackdown, after a loss to Mark Henry in a squash match, after that match, Mark Henry beat up Little Boogeyman and Henry gave him a body splash severely injuring him.

On the June 11th episode of Raw, The Boogeyman was drafted to the ECW in the WWE draft. The next day he debuted and defeated Matt Striker, starting a feud with him. On July 10th, The Boogeyman was a guest during a Striker's Classroom segment, to be educated on worms, only to be attacked by Striker's debuting enforcer Big Daddy V. He was not seen for the next three weeks, Finally coming back on the July 31st episode with new face paint and black contact lenses to scare Big Daddy V off after he finished a match. He took out Big Daddy V after a distraction from Striker a week later.

On the August 14th episode of ECW, He scored a victory by DQ over ECW Champion John Morrison after he shoved the ref. He went on to team with CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event on August 18th against Morrison and Big Daddy V. On the August 28th episode of ECW, He was one of the participants in a Fatal Four Way match for a shot at Morrison's title; however, CM Punk was the victor. On the September 4th episode of ECW, He defeated Matt Striker by DQ when Big Daddy V interfered, and went to hit Boogeyman with a ghetto drop on the outside of the ring. On the September 18th episode of ECW. He and Big Daddy V faced off but he lost.

He returned in wrestling action due to a torn calf muscle, but it has been reported that he was having dental surgery done to replace missing teeth. On the October 7th episode of ECW, they started to promote The Boogeyman's return. it aired for a few weeks. On the October 13th episode of Raw, He made his return appearing during a segment with jackass's Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius and Big Dick Johnson ending with him bringing live worms out of a bag and after putting them in his mouth spat them into the mouth of Pontius.

He made his ECW return on the November 25th episode, in a segment with John Morrison and The Miz. He made his return to wrestling action on December 9th against Scott Reed, a local talent, who he defeated with ease. On the December 30th episode of ECW, he lost to John Morrison and The Miz in a no DQ match with Finlay as his partner. On the January 20th episode of ECW, he defeated Paul Burchill by DQ, his first victory over a non-enchancement talent since returning to the brand.

His last appearance was on the March 3rd episode of ECW where he lost a match against Kane. The next day on March 4, 2009, WWE released The Boogeyman from his contract.

On the December 12th 2012 episode of Raw, he returned during the Slammy Awards, sneaking up on his former rival Booker T. He appeared in Halloween themed videos on the WWE YouTube channel, and appeared in a segment on the WWE app.

On the January 25th Royal Rumble, Boogeyman entered the Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant at number 7 marking his first WWE in-ring performance in over six years, but was quickly eliminated by Bray Wyatt.

Now The Boogeyman makes appearances in the WWE from time to time.

The Boogeyman appears in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 as a playable character, where he steals the soul of Kane using his staff. He was later defeated by The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match and was sealed into the casket. He later appeared as a DLC superstar for WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
