Boohoo the Clown is the Clown and Baby-themed monster of the Machine Empire serving King Mondo and a supporting antagonist in Power Rangers Zeo. He served as the main antagonist of the episode "For Cryin' Out Loud", as well as a minor antagonist in the episode "It came from Angel Grove".
He is voiced by Michael Sorich who previously voiced Squatt, the Polluticorn, the Pumpkin Rapper and the Crabby Cabbie in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and later voiced Wrecking Ball and Tough Tusks in Power Rangers Zeo, Shrinkasect and Voltmeister in Power Rangers Turbo, Elephantitan and the Crocotoxes in Power Rangers In Space, Quakemaker, Teksa and Hardtochoke in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Triskull, Birdbane and the Gatekeeper in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, Brickneck in Power Rangers Time Force and Camera Org, Artilla and Locomotive Org in Power Rangers Wild Force. Outside of Power Rangers, he is most well known as Zudomon in Digimon Tamers and Vikaralamon in Digimon Adventure 02.
Personality[]
Boohoo the Clown is a loony prankster that acts very childish and excitable, loving to toy around with his enemies even whilst saying that he (supposedly) does not want to hurt Joey. However, he is in actuality a sadistic and abusive creature; willing to cause misery to babies to accomplish his goals and torture his enemies with sonic sound. Boohoo is shown to also be slightly masochistic, giggling and chuckling even as the Zeo Megazord punched him in the chest and face.
Biography[]
Past[]
Boohoo the Clown was manufactured by the Machine Empire, working under King Mondo and Queen Machina. With their monsters and never-ending army of Cogs, the Machine Empire was able to devastate and conquer entire galaxies.
Zeo[]
In 1996, King Mondo leads his Machine Empire to the Moon where they drive out Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa but their invasion is ultimately stalled by the interference of the Zeo Rangers.
When Kat and Tommy are assigned to look after a baby named Joey as part of a school assignment, and the baby's cries send everyone in the Angel Grove High Study Hall running, King Mondo sees an opportunity to use him as a tool to destroy Angel Grove. As such, Klank suggests that he send Boohoo the Clown since "he's wonderful with children" so Mondo does. Boohoo is first seen posing as a baby toy in Joey's room before revealing himself and blasting him with a ray to enhance his voice. The next day, with Joey's destructive power proven, Mondo sends Boohoo to kidnap the baby and enhance his voice to become even more destructive. As such, the monster confronts the Zeo Rangers (besides Tommy who's at the Power Chamber) so they morph before Cogs arrive to help Boohoo. Although the Cogs are overwhelmed, Boohoo uses his speaker to torture and blast down the Rangers before escaping with Joey and the Cogs.
Boohoo and the Cogs go to the Angel Grove Power Plant where Klank and Orbus arrive to help Boohoo use Joey's screams to strip Angel Grove of power. With the aid of some Quadrafighters, they manage to hold off the Rangers when they arrive and even accidentally send Joey plummeting to his death but Tommy saves him and the Zeo Rangers destroy the Cogs. Enraged, Boohoo attacks; torturing and blasting the Zeo Rangers once more and even dodging the Zeo V Power Sword finisher before Klank and Orbus make him grow. The Zeo Rangers summon the Zeo Megazord but he is more than a match for it. After throwing some baby bottles bombs, he starts firing lasers at the Zeo Megazord but the Zeo Megazord Saber deflects it back and they destroy him with the Saber's finisher. With Boohoo's death, the effects on Joey disappear.

After Prince Sprocket complains about Punch-A-Bunch damaging himself during battle against the Zeo Rangers, Boohoo the Clown is indirectly referenced along with all previous monsters used up to that point when Machina reassures her distraught son that the Rangers have ruined all of their monsters.
A dream version of Boohoo the Clown is seen after Zordonicus reveals himself to be King Mondo and torments Adam with a group of Cogs and past monsters. However, this version of Boohoo almost immediately ceases to exist when Adam abruptly wakes up from his dream.
When Adam finds a cog medallion whilst training for a karate tournament, Klank bemoans how this could lead to the failure of the plan with Admiral Abominator but Orbus mentions it not being the first time; indirectly referencing Boohoo.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Durability: Boohoo the Clown was completely unfazed by multiple punches to the face from the Zeo Megazord.
- Sight: Boohoo is able to see despite only having eyebrows.
- Toy Transformation: Boohoo can transform into a small clown toy to disguise himself.
- Head Detachment: Boohoo can stick his head out from his body and make it spin.
- Head Blasts: Boohoo can also detach his head and make it spin to spew blue lasers from the gap between his head and neck.
- Frequency Manipulation: Boohoo can fire blue energy rings from the blue ball on his head at a baby so that, when the baby cries, they emit a high frequency sound-wave that is capable of destroying Angel Grove. These screamsare so powerful that the Power Chamber was able to pick them up from a satellite in orbit.
- Ball Flashing: Boohoo can spray blue waves mixed with blue lightning from his head ball. Since he only did this on the Viewing Globe, what this is supposed to do is unknown.
- Cog Summoning: Boohoo can summon Cogs to aid him in battle.
- Speaker Waves: Boohoo can fire light blue energy rings from the speaker on his chest to torture the enemies.
- Teleportation: Boohoo can teleport to any location at will by exploding into pink energy.
- Agility: Boohoo is able to dodge the Zeo V Power Sword by apparently sidestepping.
Arsenal[]
- Scepter: Boohoo the Clown wields a long white-pink scepter in battle.
- Energy Blasts: Boohoo can fire blue energy blasts from his scepter. This took down all five Zeo Rangers with one hit.
- Empowered Blasts: Boohoo is able to channel sparkly red energy into his scepter to fire it with enough force to cause a large explosion and send Joey's carriage plummeting.
- Energy Blasts: Boohoo can fire blue energy blasts from his scepter. This took down all five Zeo Rangers with one hit.
- Tambourine: Boohoo wields a tambourine which can shoot his enemies with blue energy tornadoes to disorientate them.
- Sword: After being enlarged, Boohoo is equipped with a long floppy silver sword that he uses to slash his enemies.
- Baby Bottle Bombs: Boohoo can generate baby bottle-like bombs that he could throw into his enemies.

Trivia[]
- In Ohranger, Boohoo the Clown was hit by the Zeo V Power Sword finisher and then defeated by the Zeo Blaster before being enlarged.
- This was cut from Power Rangers as the Zeo Blaster had yet to be introduced but was why he was knocked out when Orbus enlarged him.
