Boscogn is a supporting antagonist in the Golden Age arc of Berserk. He is feared throughout Midland because of his brutish strength and for being the general of the Purple Rhino Knights, the most dangerous and strongest army of Tudor.

Appearance[]

Boscogn is a tall, muscular and well-build man with rough facial features along with a bald head. He also appears to have dark skin in the 1997 anime and film adaptations.

The most noticeable feature of his appearance is his set of battle armor. The shoulder and elbow blades go outwards in the form of spikes, around the rest of his armor, the metal has a rough complexion to it, with a lot of sharp edges. He wears a purple coat with a rhino like helmet while he's in battle.

Biography[]

Golden Age Arc[]

General Boscogn was first seen during a siege of the Tudor controlled castle Doldrey, it is being attacked by Midland forces but are incapable of making any progression because of the castle's strong walls, strategic build and Boscogn's army. One of Midland's generals is informed by a foot soldier that Midland is suffering heavy losses, and Tudor sends their most powerful regiment of soldiers, the Holy Purple Rhino Knights led by general Boscogn to take down the remaining Midland soldiers.

Boscogn is later seen inside castle Doldrey approaching Adon Coborlwitz. Whilst Adon tries to reason with him, Boscogn angrily lashes out on him for losing his men and failing his tasks. He then strips Adon from his status of "commander".

As Boscogn visits his superior Lord Gennon, he informs the general that he will have to fight against the Band of the Hawk. Boscogn is enthused by this news, because he can now go against an enemy that was thought to be "invincible". Gennon gives him one important instruction; to bring the Hawk's commander Griffith back to him alive.
