The Bossbusters (alternatively called the Bucket Brigade) are the secondary antagonists of the 2024 indie platform action game, ANTONBLAST.
They are a quartet of Ballbusters who work as elite minions for Satan, and are tasked to defeat Anton and Annie, and are first seen destroying Boiler City on their blimp after Happy Hour is activated in that level. During the game, they will one by one impede Anton/Annie's process by challenging them to a fight.
History[]
The Bossbusters make their debut after Anton or Annie activate Happy Hour in Boiler City. Here, the four are seen destroying the level with their blimp, attempting to eliminate the hero. Eventually, their blimp detonates after ramming into one too many buildings.
One by one, each of the individual members abduct Anton/Annie while they are taking an elevator, in order to fight them. However, they are all ultimately defeated, and sent packing with Anton/Annie's weapon of choice.
In the penultimate level, "Hell Manor", they appear in their blimp once more attempting to chase down Anton/Annie, but once again remain in vain as the hero escapes them.
In Satan's boss battle during the start of the third phase, after Satan siphons Anton/Annie's reddish tone and then the hero regaining a new form, the Bossbusters appear to crash their blimp into the underground. They then chase down Anton/Annie for a third and final time but end up crashing their blimp into the ground, which presumably kills them all.
Members[]
Brawlbuster[]
Brawlbuster is the first member and boss overall to be fought. His battle takes place in a boxing ring within a rundown gym. Brawlbuster's attacks are to rushdown at Anton/Annie, while slinging off of the ring's ropes, stomp in the direction of the hero, and sometimes ground pound them. On his last hitpoint, he will attempt to smash Anton/Annie with a chair in a fit a blind rage, only for it to backfire if it gets caught on one of the ring's ropes.
Tallbuster[]
Tallbuster is the second member and third boss overall to be fought. His battle takes place in a pool-like setting. Here, Tallbuster will perch in one of the hot tubs located in the stage, and Anton/Annie must disperse lava onto him to deplete him of his hit points. Tallbuster will attack by either summoning Ballbusters or bombs, while teleporting from hot tub to hot tub. After his final hit point is depleted, he will create a tsunami of bombs to try and crush Anton/Annie with, before the latter hits it back at him.
Smallbuster[]
Smallbuster is the third member and fifth boss overall to be fought. Her battle takes place in a scrapyard. Rather than confronting Anton/Annie directly, Smallbuster will leap into her mech in the background and target the hero by firing her mech's fists or bombs. After knocking it back at her, Smallbuster will launch onto the stage and perform a dash attack on Anton/Annie, allowing the hero to deplete her health. After her mech is destroyed, Smallbuster is ejected onto the stage, and will attempt to flail, and allows Anton/Annie to finish her off.
Maulbuster[]
Maulbuster is the fourth member and sixth boss overall to be fought. Her battle takes place inside a concert theater. In her fight, Maulbuster will be on the opposing stage from Anton/Annie's and will summon enemies and explosive onamonapias as her attacks. Anton/Annie here must get praise so that the audience will notice them and then hurl fruits at Maulbuster, causing her to grow enraged and throw giant tomatoes at the hero, which in turn will allow them to return it back at her and damage her hit points. Anton/Annie must return ten consecutive tomatoes in order to defeat Maulbuster.
