“ | I'm Bowie, and I’d be your first openly gay contestant. FYI, I'm very competitive. Swish! Last year, I was prom King, and Queen. You can never have too many crowns. So Total Drama, I’m coming for that crown. | „ |
~ Bowie in his audition tape. |
“ | Yeah, I might have mentioned to a few people that Caleb looked unbeatable and voting him off now might be our only chance. I told you -- I came for the crown. | „ |

Bowie, labeled The Loveable Party Boy, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Julia) of Total Drama Island 2023 and a supporting antagonist in Total Drama Island 2024.
He is a flamboyant homosexual stereotypical boy who joins Total Drama as the reality show's first openly gay contestant, bent on winning the million dollars prize like every contestant. However, like all previous antagonists, Bowie is willing to resort to any kind of dirty tactics such as lying to avoid elimination and find his way into the finale at all costs. He is the former friend-turned-archenemy of Emma and the eventual boyfriend of Raj.
He was voiced by Brandon Michael Arrington.
Biography[]
Total Drama Island (2023)[]
Bowie introduces himself as Total Drama's very first openly gay contestant who has won prom king and queen. He meets the Hockey Bros as he drops off his stuff. He then meets Emma as she reveals she and Chase used to date but she broke up with him, because Chase cut the brakes on her car that crashed into a pet store.
Trivia[]
- Bowie is the eleventh main villain contestant of the Total Drama series, with the others being Heather, Courtney, Justin, Alejandro Burromuerto, Scott, Mal, Sugar, Scarlett, Josee, Jacques and Julia (not counting Chris McLean since he's the host of the show and not a competitor).
- Although, unlike most of the main villain contestants, Bowie does have a nice and polite side, despite being manipulative and a trickster. In fact, from all Total Drama main antagonists, Bowie is by far the most affable one, as he is for the win but plays fair and doesn't wish to hurt others to achieve victory.
- Bowie is the second African Canadian antagonist of the mainstream Total Drama series, the first being Lightning.
- Bowie is the first Total Drama antagonist to be homosexual, as well as the first openly homosexual character in the show's history.
- Bowie is the first Total Drama antagonist of the mainstream series to canonically, definitively be a runner-up, as no alternate ending for a victory by him was ever created by the show (per his voice actor, Brandon Michael Arrington, and many other voice actors who lent their voices to the season).
- Bowie is the first major antagonist in the franchise that does not suffer a punishment fitting to his actions upon his elimination.
- Bowie was named by series head writer Terry McGurrin after the late singer, David Bowie, who was known as an influential LGBT icon. It should be noted that David Bowie was bisexual and not gay like Bowie.
- It's possible that, since his unfortunate encounter with giant bats during the final four challenge, Bowie has developed chiroptophobia.
- He is the first antagonist to remain being in a relationship with a heroic character.
- Upon hearing the relationship problems with Emma and Chase, Bowie incorrectly believed that Chase kissed another girl. This is similar to what happened with previous Total Drama couples, most notably the infamous Gwen/Duncan/Courtney love triangle.
- Total Drama is mostly known for the fact it included stereotypical teenagers as the first-generation cast, as well as some of the second-generation cast. With that being said, since this is a reboot of Total Drama Island, Bowie is most likely a stereotypical homosexual, which is most notable in the first episode, where he was apparently allowed to be elected prom king and queen, even though he is a cisgender male. This is further proven when he and Raj, a rather manly teenage boy, get together as its stereotypical for an effeminate gay guy and a manly gay guy to be in a relationship.
- While being the main antagonist of Total Drama Island (2023), he seems to have mellowed out during the second reboot season (though not quite enough to fully admit that his actions during the first reboot season were wrong nor to refuse MK and Julia's cheating strategy), even accepting his elimination at the merge.
